for that, we turn to two experts on the matter: dennis parker, director of the american civil liberties union's racial justice program. and roger clegg, president and general counsel of the center for equal opportunity. welcome to you both. does this issue that we saw yesterday at the stream court, dennis parker mean that the use of affirmative action is the means to achieve diversity in college campuses is done, over? >> no, the supreme court is clearly said that race can be taken into account in a measured way. and that it can be perfectly constitutional. so those cases upholding the affirmative action programs in michigan, for example, still stand. it really only deals with those states that have passed these types of initiativeside don't the floodgates open after yesterday's ruling for states that dot same. >> we're hopeful the states won't do that, that they will look at the experiences in the states that have these initiatives, recognize that the effects are harmful effects, hurt whole classes of people in the states. and won't choose to go down the same path that michigan and the
