this is what it looked like at parker elementary in east oakland. parker elementary is one looking to close under the recent redistricting plan. they said they need to make changes to deal with the loss of funding. by consolidating, they said they can invest more money in remaining schools and possibly even give teachers a raise. but the parents say the closures will disproportionately impact students of color, and they worry about how far those students will have to travel. they're not giving up their fight to save the schools and they showed it today. >> as long as hard-working parents like me pay school taxes out of our checks 12 months a year these schools, because that's where it goes to, public education, you're not going anywhere. >> the parents and the students say they also want to know where they'll end up. the district says impacted students get priority to say which remaining school they would want to transfer to. >>> we continue to dig deeper into the struggles many of us face trying to make it in the bay. when it comes to the homeless
