supervisor campos: next speaker please. >> michael ruston, a member of the parkmerced action coley -- coalition. but i'm here speaking for myself. i am close to the civil grand jury as well as all of the tenant organizations that have pointed out that the board of supervisors approving this demolition and planning commission approving it are dead wrong and not acting in the interest of the citizens of san francisco. i know that some members of the board are claiming that there are tenants supporters but their boats betrayed their real interest, and i am ashamed to see the political considerations are moving the board of supervisors decision as well as the planning commission's. the planners are real-estate speculators rather than true visionary planners. san francisco of tomorrow has supported them. i do not think any of the substantive protections of the eir had been considered by the board. representatives from the planning department who spoke saying that this goes down to whether the cost of hawkins and ellis, whether a development agreement can be passed to have read control. tha

in fact, the majority of his advocacy was probably for tenants outside of parkmerced. in no way to that comment be meant to take away from his advocacy work for his friends and neighbors and residents of parkmerced, whom he was 100% committed to, but robert was truly a great man. no question over the last 12 years working with the residents of district 7, robert and i came across each other quite a bit. many times on opposite sides, but on the rare occasion on the same side, but the thing with robert that i always appreciated -- it did not matter if we disagreed. we always be engaged with the next issue. he was absolutely one of those rare people who have the ability to disagree while still being agreeable. he was a true gentleman. a former city employee as well. he worked for the municipal railway. that was his career. he worked for me -- muni throughout his career and got into the advocacy world policy retirement. his is a name that will be missed, but not forgotten. just over a year ago, we had a ceremony. even with the reconstruction, redeveloped out at parkmerced,

basically, the grand jury report focuses on their parkmerced development agreement. it in no way in first the commission did anything to process their actions. there is no criticism whatsoever of the planning department or the planning commission. i think this is very, very telling. commissioner moore: i have two questions. this was sent to us as a body, as the planning commission. should our response be as one? that is the way it is currently being proposed if i understood the comments. he is nodding as if that is implied. my second question is, i personally believe the language does not at all reflect the commissioner speak. it was a legal row bottled definitely written by a lawyer with the phraseology and the expressions used, and i do not believe if we agree or do not agree if fully represents the voice this commission has. i would also like to say that while in principle i do not have significant disagreements, i believe the commission in its findings regarding parkmerced was so diverse, i think it will need to reflect that. i think the commission should find a
