i've been telling you all morning long the gw parkway is blocked northbound before the spout run parkway all due to a large tree down in the road. i know crews are on the scene working on the situation. let's go to a couple live pictures outside and give you a perspective of what's going o. no access from the roosevelt bridge or memorial bridge to get on to the northbound gw parkway. that means 110, route 50 and military road will be heavier than normal. on the west side of town, if you're one of those that heads over to the beltway and the american legion bridge, you are going to be fine. southbound gw parkway is not affected. southbound 270 at route 109 is heavy not only because of the wet road conditions but there was a disabled vehicle in the roadway as well. we have our delia goncalves out live telling us about the situation on the green line as well. maybe metro is going to be a better idea, delia? >> reporter: it sounds like it so far. they were reporting a 15-minute delay. however, good news to pass along to commuters on the green line this morning. no delays. crews were able to

parkway. right now there is no access from the roosevelt bridge or the memorial circle to get on to the northbound side of the gw parkway. you know what that means, especially northbound. not many options. i'm going to say that military road and i-66 are going to take a hit on the outbound side early this morning, at least until hov kicks in on 66 as well. so be aware of that. northbound gw parkway, i really think it's going to be military road that takes a hit this morning to try and get around this situation. so again if you're planning to head northbound, no access, northbound before the spout run parkway. we'll take a live look at the american legion bridge. that's fine heading to the southbound gw parkway. we'll take a quick look on the other side of town on the eastbound side of route 50 in maryland at route 197. only the right lane gets by. that's because the road buckled due to the heat. i'll be back in a few minutes with more traffic at 5:09. >>> metro crews are trying to restore norm
