but this parnassus project affects the entire city. we've heard a lot from people who are local homeowners, millionaire homeowners saying that, hey, this affects us. well, parnassus affects the whole city and it's not just a district 5 thing, everyone uses it. and i would say that, supervisors, the role of supervisors is to set the rules. does this project meet the rules? if, yes, then step back and let it go forth. was that 10,000 jobs, 40% of affordable housing. there's been two plus years engaging with the community. how is this rushed? the project is not expanding into the neighborhood. ucsf is non-profit, it takes insurance. i don't know if the board needs a reminder that s.f. general, which is run under the city's department of health famously screwed over hundreds of thousands of residents by balance billing. you know, that was a scandal last year. i don't think that the city really can be talking about how to run a hospital. commentators talk about using hunter's point instead. well, you know, that's actually kind of racist. wh

i have both friends and family who work at the ucsf parnassus campus and we are expecting the big one at some point. i want to make sure that a hospital built in the 40s, can with stand that for the workers and the patients into the future. that being said, i wish we had more time. i am aware that delaying the project -- actually, do anything for when the shovel gets in the ground, but because of the complex financing that is going into this project, it may, you know, impact the commitment that ucsf has and i, having been someone who has raised money for capital improvements and acquisitions, i know that is real. so that does give me pause. that being said, today, i cannot say that every i is dotted and every t is crossed. like supervisor chan, for me, the labor agreements are key. i want to make sure that we have good union jobs out of this. i think it's really important. depending on the jobs to help our community go forward. and also i want this to be in terms of the affordable housing agreement, i am a housing person and i want to make sure that is tight. that being said, i do tru

i'm a direct neighbor of the parnassus project. i oppose the resolution to delay the parnassus project. i like so many others, it's important for us to be good neighbor to ucsf. especially now when ucsf has been working tirelessly to keep the san francisco community alive all while doing community outreach which i have seen many times. i believe this could be extended even when the pandemic is no longer a threat. my former neighbor works as a nurse at ucsf. she allowed her to work, walk to work everyday. now she faces two hour compute by car where she has to put in long hours to look out for covid patients. housing close to one workplace should not be a luxury reserve and those with a six-figure salary to afford it. it will improve our struggling infrastructure and provide new jobs our city so desperately need now in the post pandemic era. thank you. >> next speaker please. we have 55 listeners and 14 in the queue. >> i believe the ucsf campus need to be updated and expanded. i believe that some of the prohousing proponents have be
