the largest participation comes from trucking. there is an asian theredbe and a black -- there is an asian pacific dbe and a black lbe. all of our packages so far, without mandating -- all of the trucking on all of the packages so far. director daly: so staff is now telling us that the dbe purchase a patient for granted is lower than -- for granite is lower than balfour? >> correct. our first order of business was to evaluate the bonafide good faith efforts of the low bid and determine if in fact they were bonafide. as a secondary measure, after staff report was prepared in order to be able to answer questions, we did look at the 2nd low bid to make sure that their numbers either were or were not actually what they are saying, and we look at some of these businesses to see whether or not they were store fronts or whether they were subcontractors. our calculation of their numbers brings it down significantly from 25%. we are not actually looking at a $15 million or $20 million difference in sbe participation if you are comparing th

sfusd has always participated in january as violence prevention month. thank you for allowing my staff to go first during the superintendent's address. my staff appreciates its. this year, we have always participated in the violence prevention month. this year, student support services is enhancing our efforts by designating january 18 through 21 as respect week in honor of the legacy of dr. martin luther king, jr.. we have a very quick presentation. they will present a brief snapshot of some of the latest data we have from the california healthy kids survey. this is going to be very quick. then we will have a summary of the tools and materials that we will recently be distributing as well as ongoing resources and classroom lessons that are available to promote and maintain a positive school environment that is respectful, kind, and nurturing for all students, every day. >> [unintelligible] >> the surveys are administered every other year. we are happy and proud to say that we have generalized data. we are starting with the high school administration. we

participants also enjoyed bingo, music, food, and fellowship. recovery advocates in new orleans, louisiana, joined together for a red carpet event premiering the documentary film, "highway to healing: re-thinking addiction in louisiana." following the screening was a red carpet recovery walk saluting all the courageous members of the greater new orleans and baton rouge recovery communities. the event was held at the old u.s. mint, a louisiana state museum. dawn farm hosted their 37th anniversary jamboree in ypsilanti, michigan. the event featured activities for all ages, including live music, hayrides, pony rides, live and silent auctions, and tours of the 74-acre farm. the jamboree provided an opportunity to have a great time while raising awareness of the tremendous power of recovery. recovery schools and friends in st. paul, minnesota, held a kickball tournament with live music and fun for everyone! the event was held at como park where attendees enjoyed a nice day outdoors playing kickball and were able to celebrate recovery together with ga

here is an example of kids and happy faces who have participated in this program. in addition, india basin, hunters point about 10 years ago began an annual program that was established to offer kids of all ages the opportunity to spend a day on the water. to date, about 500 people have taken advantage of this opportunity. here you will see watercraft being delivered. kids in their life jackets getting ready to board kayaks. kids on the water. holy katz, which are small boats with no kiel's so they can sail in shallow waters. the whaleboat association also for dissipates in this event, as does supervisors of the maxwell, who has not only been a big supporter, but participate annually. barry had the kids and adults each year -- a very happy kids and adults each year. we of work in partnership with san francisco state university's program. the best way to get kids on to larger boats is to begin them on kayaks and smaller boats. finally, back to south beach on the south beach yacht club, which has operated a community outreach and viewed sailing program for 18 years.
