pascale ferran directed this film. english, you know, and i don't speak much french so we had an interpreter all the time. she works with a small, select crew of about 20 people. very intimate environment. but no, it was difficult at times but also really exhilarating to be able to know that you had to communicate through someone who's joined at the hip with you always, this translator, and consistently having to think about what you want to say and say it clearly and distinctly. it was part of the challenge but part of the fun of making the movie too. >> seth: do you miss the translator? >> i call her up sometimes.
