pasco, citrus and hernando counties. he's in the weather center now tracking the rain throughout the day so we're prepared. >> looks like the metro area in the clear for now but it's not going to last. >> we're all rainfall the next couple of days. the problem is it's where the rain is heaviest is where the flooding will be. and we have flood watches in effect. you can see this wall of water about to move onshore. it will be a wet go through the morning commute. no lightning here but the issue will be blinding rain and reduced visibility. already impacting 19 from crystal river, vine island, spring hill getting in on it richey. pinellas is drying out but further south manatee getting in on rainfall along 75 and points east are beginning to dry to the west here. we're going to see the heaviest rain to the north and that is where accumulations of another six inches is possible so. we had a half-foot already, more in some areas here. that will combine to produce upperwards of a foot since last friday. that is where we have

this is going to be in the pasco, lake acres area so northern pasco county, really close to county line road. and your alternate is going to be the sun what we're hearing from authorities is this is a traffic crash that resulted from earlier police activity. we do know that there's going to be a briefing later so we'll have more information hopefully to bring to you later this morning. we have a crew on the way to the scene and we do know that at least one person has been transported to the hospital with some injuries. we also saw unfortunately looks like an extended crime scene being set up with investigators. it looks kind of like a grim scene to be unfortunate here but we'll let you know once we learn suncoast parkway is going to be the work around here. i want to let you know briefly because this is an earlier crash but it is already starting to cause some big backups on the selmon expressway. it was a crash that was eastbound on the upper deck. this was at 50th street and there's some lane blockages. they haven't quite cleared the crash out yet so that's preventing them from openin

this is decent lightning from just west of dupris gardens and pasco county. this is moving from south to north. just beginning to get its act together from temple terrace to valrico, bloomingdale and over to the plant city area. that will fill in over the next hour as well. from ruskin to apollo beach, that is the area that has all of the rain right there. the lightning extends into all of this is moving from south to north. i think this entire area from lakeland down to east of i-75 is where the bulk of the rain will develop this evening. it will wind down by 9:00, 10:00. temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. that's more like it. more in store through the weekend. if you haven't had a chance to get yard work done or you want to get outside and enjoy our florida sunshine, now we're good to go. you just 4:00, 5:00 so you don't see this. the pattern will not change. the beach is beautiful until 5:00 or 6:00. today a transitional day. tomorrow through the weekend more of the classic east to west wind field which means that the storms will push back towards t

the warning goes for citrus, hernando and pasco. there's offshore. this system is not expected to become a hurricane but you could see wind gusts at hurricane strength. which is again why the watch 48 hours remains offshore. tomorrow morning, about this time, 50 miles per hour winds. still well offshore. and in fact, this advisory has slowed this thing down. 2:00 in the afternoon, tomorrow, 6 amiles per hour winds still. relatively far offshore. now i believe it's going to come onshore around midnight thursday into friday. right around the big bend of shaded line there, down to pasco county. that's a tropical storm warning. and then the system heads out into the atlantic and we don't have to worry about it anymore. watch the tropical storm-force winds. that's this yellow shaded area. for the most part, it stays offshore tomorrow afternoon. and look at the tampa metro area, we get the onshore southwest flow which means our tide can't really go out. when high tide happens at 2:41 combined with 48 hours of rain, we could be dealing with intense flooding
