pat, back to you. >> pat collins, thank you, pat. >>> it's a story that is trending here in washington and across the country. we are now getting new reaction to an explosive lawsuit. it accuses fox news and the white house of working together to push conspiracy theories about the murder of dnc staffer seth rich. it alleges that fox quoted an investigator working on the case because that's what the president wanted. it also accuses fox and the president of pushing the conspiracy theory to help lift the cloud of the russia investigation. chris lawrence is in our newsroom with a response from both sides now, chris. >> yeah, pat. rod wheeler filed this lawsuit. he's the investigator who looked into seth rich's murder last year it appeared frequently on fox news. it was there we heard a conspiracy theory that suggested rich took e-mails from the democratic national committee and leaked them to wiki leaks. they say he intentionally misquoted him in a story that suggested he discovered a link. it alleged that president trump had an advanced copy of that fox story and pushed fox to pubbish it
