our pat ciarrocchi is learning details in this tragic story and joins us live from that scene, pat. >> reporter: tragedy really is an under statement, guess contact you can see evidence of the fire tragedy as fire breaking out a little after 12:00 o'clock. some activity you may see behind us is a second call that these volunteers have been just call out on. we don't know exactly where they are going but they are moving very quickly. as for this fire throughout the day they needed to hose down the hot spots. this is the place where three women were killed. the smoke is still rising from the charred remains of the home, talked in a wooded area along a country road in west caln township chester county. last night neighbors tell us that the the matriarch of this family died. she lived in this home. today, three women who came to grief for her were killed in the fire. >> we have reports of people trapped. >> reporter: wagon town fire chief todd zigler tell us that five volunteer fire companies responded just afternoon. >> crews went to work immediately. upon fighting the fire we found we h

our pat ciarrocchi is live there to continue our team coverage and pat you spoke exclusively with one of those injuries officers. >> reporter: yeah, indeed i did, jessica. it was the fourth officer injured in the second part of the incident. he was shy and a little hesitant. he wasn't really comfortable giving us his name but did he speak to us for a very brief interview. a young officer with the leg injury, that could have been worse. >> i'm in a little pain, sore for right now. >> reporter: was it just your ankle. >> yes, my left leg. >> reporter: you must have been scared. >> i didn't really think bit at the time. >> reporter: the officer was hesitant to give us his name but his bravery was obvious. he was fourth officer injury. he fled suspect's car as he got out of his police car. >> all four injured by one individual, in a car and used a car as a weapon. >> reporter: dangers of police work on the streets of philadelphia a. the suspect described as incoherent battled with police when they tried to help him after crashing his car. >> they were fighting this guy. he was very strong

. >>> our team coverage continues with pat ciarrocchi, she's live at einstein medical center where all of the injured officers and that suspect were all taken. pat? >> reporter: well, jessica the worst call that the police officers can get is that there is an officer down and in this case it was four officers down. the injuries according to the mayor all officers are pretty badly banged up but those injuries are not life threatening. the it was between 2:30 and 3:00 this afternoon that ambulances converged on einstein all four officers, and the suspect who was wounded by police were in side those ambulances, the the mayor, the police commissioner and first deputy spoke to the media late this afternoon, emphasizing the dangers that police face. >> the individual used a car as a weapon against the police officers, and injured them. they are banged up. they have scrapes on their legs arms, and i think one officer was pretty sore shoulder. >> that male at the time appeared to be incoherent. they subsequently got him out of the car and male began to fight with the officers. violent struggle

fire fighters raced to hill road and west caln township and that is where we will fine pat ciarrocchi with the latest on this still developing story, pat. >> reporter: jessica, in fact, it is an investigation that is intensely involved. we were able to get close to the scene. take a look at this tragedy over my shoulder, a tragedy on this country road in west caln township. three women were killed here that fire as you said breaking out just afternoon time today and you can see how destroyed this home was from chopper three you can see charred remains of once what was a prefabbed home in the shape of the double wide trailer. the fire burned quickly and intensely, and in fact, because of the conditions here at the -- conditions today being dry and windy the fire also ignited some of the trees, surrounding the home. we also understand that there were two men and two children who escaped this fire, and this is fire chief todd todd zigler from the the fire department. >> crews went to work immediately. upon, you know, fighting the fire we had three victims inside. at that point we continu

pat ciarrocchi, was anchoring for "eyewitness news" that day in 1985 and she joins us live from west philadelphia on this anniversary, pat. >> reporter: jessica, this neighborhood is very different are now. police attempted to evict move over a long period of time. it became more urgent when they believed that the move members had weapons. that is when this neighborhood change forever. became disheartened. >> reporter: owes age avenue in 1985, gunshots echoed here, six adults and five children died, and believing a rooftop bunker was fortified with weapons philadelphia police dropped a bomb. it ignited a bomb that consumed 61 homes. >> i heard when the the thing dropped. >> reporter: virginia tax was 52 then and ran toward her home on owes age, a street that she loved. >> the whole place was on fire. this was the best street in the city, just destroyed. >> reporter: move activist marched down pine to get to the backdrop against boarded up homes rebuilt so poorly that they are not safe. many residents took a cash settlement and moved the city says it is in legal limbo. with the same so
