pat collins is at the scene with reaction from the teenager's mother and one of her best friends. pat? >> reporter: it's a walk many teens take every day. she was just two blocks away from school when she was struck and killed by a car. at the scene today, i talked to her mom. >> it's unbelievable. i just can't believe my daughter is not here. >> reporter: at the place where her daughter died this morning. 15-year-old christina morris ward killed on her way to school. it happened around 7:00 at the intersection of germantown road and wisteria drive. police say that christina was struck by a white ford car. they say the 27-year-old driver of the car remained on the scene. this is not an easy crossing. there are seven lanes of traffic and a median strip. it's unclear as to where christina was when this happen. but police say it appears the driver of the car had the right of way. >> investigators told me they believe the car had the solid green signal. >> reporter: christina morris ward was a 10th grader at seneca valley high. at the school, i talked to her classmate and best friend.

pat collins is live in hernandez tonight where the husband is living. >> reporter: this investigation started in leesburg. now it appears to have shifted to herndon. more twists and turns in the case of the missing belly dancer. missing. leyla mccullagh. 36-year-old belly dancer, wife and mother of a little boy. last seen back in august at her leesburg home. a sprawling property with a pond and a pool. she lived here with her husband matthew and their young son. ian griffis is her next door neighbor. >> he goes and comes at weird times. i mean, he doesn't have a regular schedule. he was gone atight and day. she kind of went her own separate way, too. they looked like they had two separate lives. >> reporter: according to court documents, the sheriff is investigating foul play in her disappearance. recently, investigators searched her husband's apartment here in hernandez and seized a number of guns and a substantial amount of ammunition. according to court documents, matthew mccullagh now lives here with his girlfriend. those same documents say that leyla mccullagh claims her husband

pat collins explains why the recent attacks have the people there on edge. pat? >> reporter: jim, now it appears there may be a fifth victim in this string of fondling attacks. police out in springfield investigating a series of fondling attacks on young women here. today a detective talking to yet another victim. we call her rosa. she says she was attacked on september 19th as she was coming home with her daughter. she spoke through an interpreter. >> translator: we were walking down the sidewalk, when all of a sudden i felt somebody walking behind me. once i turned around, he started touching me. touching me around my breasts. and then i started screaming and my daughter started screaming and i turned around and he started running back. >> reporter: all of these attacks happened on residential streets where you're more likely to feel safe and let your guard down. monticello boulevard, this is where the first case was reported september 7th, 9:30 in the morning. a 26-year-old woman attacked down there. >> it's terrifying. i have a daughter, she's away at college

news4's pat collins spoke to his accuser and was there when curl turned himself in. pat? >> reporter: at the montgomery county jail, a swim coach charged in a child sex case. it goes back to the '80s. the victim? one of his best swimmers. 63-year-old rick curl, a well-known washington area swim coach, leaving the montgomery county jail after he was officially charged in a child abuse sex case. a case that goes back 30 years. curl released on a $50,000 money bond. the victim, kelly davies kearn. i talked to her by phone about curl's arrest. >> i don't know whether to laugh or cry. i'm thankful. i'm sad. i just feel confirmation that what i did was the right thing to do. >> reporter: according to court documents, curl sexually abused the victim from the time she was 13 until she was 18. while he was her swim coach. she was one of his star swimmers. the acts happened at various places, including georgetown prep high school, one of the many venues leased by curl for his competitive swimming lessons. do you want to see rick curl go to jail? >> yeah. that's what he deserves. ab

live in herndon, pat collins, news4. >>> thank you. there's a website causing some trouble now in a court case involving a defendant in a deadly car crash. police say rico was a passenger in a stolen toyota echo that crashed and burst into flames after a chase in montgomery county earlier this year. three teenagers were killed in that crash. richardson was charged with car theft. he started a website called justice for rico. it is to tell his side of the story. prosecutors have asked the judge to take it down. they say they're concerned that it could influence the jury pool. richardson's lawyer said the website is a matter of free speech and he argues that he should have a place to respond to information that police post on their website. a developing story now. a flight was scheduled to make it was unscheduled stops for two completely different reasons. first a medical emergency. the plane was diverted to newfoundland so a sick passenger could be taken off. then on the way to heathrow, the plane was diverted to ireland after a passeng

news4's pat collins spoke with both the victim and suspect's families. he joins us outside d.c. superior court. pat? >> reporter: jim, before he was old enough for a driver's license, they say he was in deep trouble with the law. now this teen known as the caveman faces murder charges. do you remember that day? >> yeah. like it was yesterday. i heard shots. i come running outside. it's my baby on the ground. i'm trying to get to my baby. i get there, he has no life to him. he's gone. i didn't even get to tell my baby i loved him. >> reporter: it was last friday that toni buried her son gregory. he was her youngest child. he was 22 years old. gregory shot and killed in this alley off eighth street northeast. the suspect in the case, 18-year-old kevon austin. he was arrested by police last weekend. though we don't know the exact motive for this murder, this case gives us a sharp insight into how some people end up dead in the streets of our city. he's been in a lot of trouble, hasn't he? >> yes, he has. and i'm done. >> reporter: that's the suspect's aunt. she had custody of the te

. >> pat collins talked to his accuser. >> rick curl, a well-known washington area swim coach. leaving the montgomery county jail after he was officially charged in a child abuse sex case. a case that goes back 30 years. curl released on a $50,000 money bond. the victim, kelley davies currin, now 43 and a mother of four. i talked to her by phone about curl's arrest. >> i don't know whether to laugh or cry. i'm thankful. i'm sad. i just feel confirmation that what i did was the right thing to do. >> reporter: according to court documents, curl sexually abused the victim from the time she was 13 until she was 18. while he was her swim coach. she was one of his star swimmers. the acts happened at various places, including georgetown prep high school, one of the many venues leased by curl for his competitive swimming lessons. do you want to see rick curl go to jail? >> yeah. that's what he deserves. absolutely. for as long as the justice system -- i want the justice system to do its job. >> reporter: back in 1989, kelley, whose maiden name was davies, said curl paid her family $150
