pat collins is live in southeast this afternoon with new details. >> reporter: two shooting incidents around lunchtime here in distance of the metro. around 11:50, a bullet pierces a window at the park police headquarters on anacostia drive. it appears the shot came from a parking garage of the nearby metro station. it became a shelter in place situation as police went out and tried to locate the shooter. nothing found. then a few minutes later on stanton road a burst of bullets in the air. look at all the shell casings here. witnesses told me two young men got into a running gunfight. one was shot in the leg. police got him and recovered the gun. the other guy got away. these homes are practically brand new, but she says it is still a dangerous place to live. >> i've got a little girl and i don't like it. like, i could be out here with my daughter and gunfire just happened and my daughter could be dead. i could be dead. i've got a child to raise and i've got to be daughter. you get what i'm saying? i don't like this violence. i can't wait to get out of this neighborhood. >> reporter:

our pat collins talked with witnesses today.joins us now live from the scene just off west diamond avenue. >> reporter: muddy branch road. they say it was raining and windy and a jeep jumped this curb and ended up in an apartment way over there. this jeep got so far into the apartment it looked like it was living room furniture. there was a woman and child inside when it happened. nobody, nobody, was hurt. they even saved all t the jeep came over the curb, through the brush, over the grass, over this drainage pipe, through this guy's charcoal grill, through a brick support column, through the patio doors, and then into the living room of this apartment. it's a miracle no one was seriously hurt. this woman lives in an upstairs apartment. she heard the boom. she saw the smoke. she asked not to be idenfied. >> i was sleeping and i heard the impact, so i kind of looked out the window to see what was going on. i saw the smoke come out, and i saw a little girl go, mommy. that's when i called 911. >> reporter: as for the driver of the

pat collins joins us live in pentagon city with details on how it pat?porter: jim, police say he didn't like the way she was driving, so they say he bit her finger. it drew blood. >> it's unusual. we don't see these types of incidents in which another individual bites another individual. that's obviously inappropriate behavior. >> reporter: police tell the story this way. a woman is driving down 15th street. she has her son in the car with her. all of a sudden a man in another car pulls up behind her. he starts yelling, you're in the wrong lane, you're in the wrong lane. then he throws something at her car. the woman keeps on driving down the road, but then she comes to a stop. the man comes to a stop too. then they say he gets out of his car and starts to attack her through the driver's side window. >> she attempts to open the door in an effort to push the male subject away fro assault. at some point, she was able to get out of the vehicle and that's when the assault continues to occur and he ended up biting her. >> reporter: arrested in the case, 55-ye

let's get to pat collins in sandy spring with the details. >> reporter: i've got a lot of moving parts two home burglaries. two stolen cars and two summer camps put on lock down for about two hours. one, perhaps two, suspects still at large and in the middle of it all a huge rainstorm. it began when a neighbor saw this mercedes car parked up the driveway close by a house on excalibur lane. she'd seen the car earlier. she thought it was suspicious. she called 911. police here in a flash. >> officers arrived on scene and they saw the car running and when the officers entered the backyard a subject jumped the fence. >> reporter: that led it a massive man hunt. you see, there have been a number of burglaries in that area over the last ce days and in at least one of those burglaries guns were taken. police working hard to shut this down. during the search, nearby road says blocked up and nearby cabs put on lockdown. neighbors told to stay inside. as it turns out that mercedes car had been stolen. >> heavy rain made it doubly difficult to hunt down the suspect. then around 2:00, another burg

pat collins has been going through court documents now. he's at police headquarters with more on this story. >> reporter: jim, he is 17. he lives in the district. his ex-girlfriend is 17. she lives in 180 rounds of ammunition. they say he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend. he threatened to kill her entire family. he threatened to shoot up her high school. according to court documents obtained by news4, the 17-year-old threatened his ex-girlfriend. he said he was going to her house and would kill her entire family and bring friends to watch. he said he was going to her school, eleanor roosevelt high, and shoot it up. he said he was going to her mother's workplace, shoot it up, and kill her mother. police say he also took pictures of his ex-girlfriend conducting sexual acts and posted them online because she wouldn't date him again. at a news conference about guns and violence today, police chief cathy lanier talked about how the police gun recovery unit moved in to stop this. >> the gun recovery unit worked with that young woman through

pat collins is at the scene with advice on what to do if you find yourself facing an aggressive driver >> reporter: police say first he yelled. then he threw. then he bit. he bit her finger. it drew blood. the suspect in this case identified as 55-year-old timothy dubois, charged with biting a woman's finger in a road rage incident in arlington. police say it happened on 15th street. they say a woman was driving with her son in her car. they say timothy dubois was in they say all of a sudden he started yelling, you're in the wrong lane, you're in the wrong lane. he threw something at her car. they say the woman kept on driving, but when she came to a stop, he came to a stop as well. he got out of his car and began attacking her through the driver's side window. >> she attempts to open the door in an effort to push the male subject away from her to end the assault. at some point, she was haable t get out of the vehicle and that's when the assault continued to occur and he bit her finger. >> reporter: to avoid road rage confrontations, try and drive away. if you can't, stay in your car.

. >> news 4's pat collins joins us live with details on this. pat? >> reporter: indeed, jim. it was the sting, cops posing as crooks to uncover some down low business deals. apparently, they do a lot of things at discount auto sounds and security. window tinting, car alarms, hand car washing and police say they were doing other things, as well. the cops call it fencing. dealing in stolen goods. this is how they made the case. it was an undercover operation. they say cops would go in there and exchange stolen goods for guns, drugs and money. this went on for several weeks and then last night -- ball game. they arrested 39-year-old tom bandwin. seized, three handguns, an ak-47, some prescription painkillers and $26,000 in cash. the man i talked to at the store today had this to say about it all. >> is there a fencing operation? >> i don't know what is a fencing, sir. >> you know, buying and selling stolen goods. >> no -- no, sir. so what do you make of this whole thing? i don't know. that's -- i'm waiting for the whatever thing to happen -- i don't know right now. >> has anybod
