let's get right to news 4's pat collins who has made his way live there to the scene. pat, what's the latest? >> reporter: leon and pat, down on ooking live now the scene at the third street tunnel,ed northbound lane. about an hour ago there was a crash and shooting or a shooting and a crash. at this point i can't tell you which event came first. there are police here from the u.s. capitol. there areetropolitan police here trying to figure it all out. i can tell you that one man was sht. he's said to be in serious condition. he was conscious and breathing when they took him from the scene. i can tell you they are looking for a dark-colored sedan with a man and woman inside. they believe the woman may be the driver of that suspect car. as we lookown on the scene now, you can see there's a gold-colored ford explorer. thesh wild is bashed in. back in the tunnel, back in the dark side of the tunnel, there's another car in the center lane. there are a couple of women in that car. i don't know what role that car tays in all of this. again,s happened around 2:54 this afternoon

news 4's pat collins reports. >>. >> reporter: george washington university hospital.undayfternoon. a paramed sick pushing a patient into the emergency room when all of a sudden aes guy shovim in the back. the paramedic feels that his wallet is missing from his back pocket. ls hey, stop that guy. he's got my wallet. the suspect runs down the street. he trips. the stolen wallet falls to the ground. a good samaritan picks it up and then that suspect makes an unusual escape. in an apparent attempted getaway the suspect runs into the emergency room and flops down on a stretcher, like a patient. that's where the dops ficops fis now the sct told police earlier that day he smoked a dipper. a dipper is a jint dippedn pcp. smoke some of that, and it can have dire consequences. obviously it did here. the sspect said he smoked that tipper anhiit caused m to fall out and then he says he woke up in the hospital. didn't have any clothes on and was told hoe was under arrest. reaction now from the president of the firefighters union. >> his main focus is on that patient that he's tran

'll use all of our resources necessary to locate those individuals and hold them accountable for their actions. >> the 1700 block of crystal drive. it was about 7:42 at night. police say a man corners a womas and make some sexual remarks. she pushes him away, but he didn't leave empty handed. >> reporter: later the victims contacted police to report that during theourse of the incident her credit cards had been stolen. >> the suspect uses the woman's credit cards at a gas station shop on washington boulevard and at a mcdonald's on jeff davis highway. cops follow the credit card trail. they go to this gas station and they getrveillance video of the suspect. they pass that picture around to other police on patrol, and thec a on the street recognizes the suspect and arrests him. where at this metro stop less than half
