i'm pat lawson muse. we begin this morning with the trump fallout. his disparaging remarks about mexican immigrants have cost him an upscale restaurant and a lot of trouble. super chef jose andres has cancelled plans to open the flagship restaurant in the trump hotel citing his own spanish roots and that a fact of a lot of his employees are hispanic. there are demonstrations outside the hotel in downtown d.c. and "the washington post" has reported there are illegal immigrants working on the construction site on pennsylvania avenue. joe madison do you think there's going to be more backlash? >> oh, yes, definitely there's going to be more. and this is not an easy decision for jose to make because remember he's now being sued so that -- because trump wants to recoup ten years of rent as it relates to the lease that he apparently signed. i would assume that the lawyers have looked over the contract. but you know what also i hope will happen with this is that we don't stop with trump. because they should be looking at all of these construction areas and

news4's pat lawson muse is in the newsroom to tell us why boston's loss could be d.c.'s gain. pat? >> reporter: wendy, boston mayor marty walsh refused to allow his taxpayers to foot any part of the bill for the olympics so today, boston and the u.s. olympic committee agreed to pull the plug on boston's bid for the games. and that could be good news for d.c. council member jack evans tells us that washington was the best choice from the start and he says the district is still interested in getting the bid. in previous arguments, the district has said that d.c., maryland and virginia are more than well equipped to handle the event. the city argue that our region has about 130,000 hotel rooms and more than 136 million square feet of retail space. the district also called itself the most walkable city in the u.s. at the time, d.c. was competing with boston, san francisco and los angeles to land the 2024 games. so we will see what happens. >> and we wanted to know how you felt about today's developments and about the possibility of the district getting back into the olympic competition

i'm pat lawson muse. chief lanier says the response this past week at the navy yard went very smoothly. mayor bowser called it a good exercise that showed what we've learned since the shootings at the navy yard in september 2013. the massive police response followed a phone call from a navy yard worker who thought she heard what could have been the sounds of gunfire. there was no gunfire, no injuries. but they called it a clear coordinated convincing response. what is your assessment? >> well i think it was a coordinated response. i know as we watched like most of us on the news on tv, if there had ever been a gunman and the shots, i don't know how they would have gotten out of that perimeter that was set up. clearly we learned from two years ago. and i must tell you, though, i get a little concerned when i hear the mayor say it was an exercise. because i'm assuming that they were responding to what they thought was real. but let's thank god that it wasn't real, but it was well coordinated. >> i think she
