some of the senators have returned including the top republican on the committee, pat roberts. as we wait, we're going to hear from a reporter who's covering the hearing talking about what's happening with the bill. chuck abbott is on capitol hill covering the farm bill for reuters. what are a few 6 changes in the bill? >> well, excuse me, most notably, the proposal being put, given to the committee by chairman stabenow supporting a new farm support system. since the 1930s farm support has been based on governments attempts to prop up market prices. and with the, within the last six or seven years we've run a very high market price. record high prices, and there's a -- the belief that a new system would about better choice, and this new system would be an assurance-like program which would protect farmer revenue against low prices and the effect of bad yields, or bad weather. so that it's a more comprehensive approach to farm supports than has been used since farm subsidies began. that's the big thing in what's calmed the commodity title. in the conservation portion of the bill

pats may be buried. the wnyw reporter joins us live with the details. what can you tell us robert?and good morning, everyone. just spoke with the f.b.i. and they characterize this as a full scale dig which will begin in just minutes here in the soho section of manhattan. you can see a heavy nypd and f.b.i. presence. investigators are looking for any human remains, any clothes or other clues that could help solve the case of pates. he left his home alone for the first time to go to school bus by himself on may 25, 1979 and he has not been seen since. he was one of the first missing children to ever appear on a milk carton. many suspected that a man named jose ramos played a role in his abduction but ramos was never charged criminally. now, sources are telling us that a handiman who had access to this basement now is a focus of this investigation. however, police have not discussed any specific suspects. and i will step back into the shot, perhaps the saddest part of this case is how far away he lived. his parents still live less than a block away from this scene. so far, they have n
