your response, patricia bynes? >> i agree with that request.'re still having problems here with officers of the law being in proper uniform. on thursday night, i personally observed officers not wearing their nametags. on friday, i called the chief of police of the minister palavi that he represented and asked what is being done about this since the justice department came out with a statement on wednesday saying officers are are supposed to be wearing name tags. i cannot say this for myself, but protesters said they saw an officer wearing an "i am darren wilson" bracelet. i went and spoke with the line commander and asked them to please investigate that. we are still having problems with law enforcement showing up in proper uniforms. this is a problem. the seriousness of the "i am during wilson" race with is that it incites and causes tension. that is not a part of police professional uniform. what they do on her personal time and how they choose to dress, that is one thing. when we are in a situation where there is protesting, that is not app

joining me now is patricia bynes, a democratic committee woman for ferguson township and thomas hob, executive director and cofounder of art city defenders. his work represents low income residents of st. louis county and court. thank you for being here. >> thank you for having me. >> thank you very much, reverend sharpton. >> what is your response to the news today? >>. >> i am elated that the department of justice is stepping into the ferguson police department and going to take a close eye. i'm excited about it. so is the community. this is part of what the outcry is. we have not been marching outside in hundred degree weather and in rain for nothing. there are serious things this is long overdue. >> a lot of people watching ferguson, i spoke at the national bap the 'tis convention. it was a huge ovation when i brought it up in my statement. what's the reaction in st. louis county generally? >> i think the reaction is pretty positive. i believe it's a welcome investigation. if there is a pattern and practice of discrimination it will be found out. it is broader than just ferguson.

. >> let's get more now with jeffrey toobin, tom fuentes and patricia byne. your reaction to this st. louis dispatch witness account that officer wilson fired at brown while he was running away and then when he turned around he was shot multiple times? >> first, i'm glad that more people are -- more witnesses are coming forward with giving their accounts of what they've seen. we really just want the truth to come out. this really corroborates the other witness statements that said they have seen the same thing. even what gives it more credibility is that he's not from the area. so it lends a voice to say this is what happened in this case. >> is that true, jeffrey? so because this is someone who is not from the area, there may be more credibility? >> there might be. but i really think it's important that we give the investigators time to assimilate all the information. if this is the only witness and if this witness is born out to be true, this sounds like cold blooded murder. but there are other witnesses, there are scientific tests that need to be done. it i

's going to happen, that ferguson police station. patricia, what's going on over there? >> what i'm hearing is once people did not necessarily shut down the highway to their satisfaction, the next exit right up the street is quite easy for the protesters to go ahead and there has been a constant presence of protests at the police station. so i was getting phone call there is, about 100 people or so up there. and they are active. i think it's basically just continuing to do things they've been out there doing, that is to protest right outside and probably this time with so many people i know that they are blocking traffic. >> do you support the effort that has been taking place to shut down that major interstate in missouri? >> you know, it was a very mixed call for myself. i support the civil disobedience and i support the action. and i understand the rage and the anger that is out here. so i feel like i'm stuck in the middle. we do have a public safety issue. so i'm glad no one got hu
