davis has the story. >> reporter: it's clear in her mug shots that patricia krentcil enjoys going to a tanning salon.kes her daughter with her. she says her daughter, anna, didn't tan. >> me, mommy. mommy tans. and she sits out, outside the booth. >> reporter: the 44-year-old new jersey mom was arrested and charged monday with second-degree child endangerment as a result of her daughter's sunburn. >> the pediatrician says she's got a little bit of a sunburn. but it was the only weekend it was warm. we were out doing the gardening. >> reporter: the 5-year-old's school nurse noticed she had a rash. and the little girl told her it was from going tanning with mommy, the school called child services. >> i never once in my life, would let my daughter, especially at that age, go into a tanning booth. >> reporter: but officials say krentcil took the child into the booth without the salon's knowledge. the u.v. light can damage your dna, causing formations of dangerous skin cancer cells. as in most states, new jersey law does not allow anyone under the age of 14 to use a tanning facility. and older teens requi
