jummy: joining us on the line right now is patrick cleary, a student who was on campus when the shootings to lace. thank you for calling in. where you were. patrick: i think it was about 9:30 and i was eating breakfast in our dining hall on north campus called tradition at scott house. i was about to walk to class and as i was going out the door, a guy stopped me and said you cannot leave right now. i said why not, and he said we are on lockdown and there is an active shooter. my heart sort of jumped in my throat. it was sort of surreal. it was hard to process. dining hall away from the windows, and for a while there, that was the own summation we had. it turns out that the shooter was just about a quarter of a mile down the street from us, so then it became even more terrifying. but then we saw the police come in and surround the building. i think that gave those of us who were stuck in the hall some -- how quickly did you hear from campus officials in terms of emails or text alerts to let you know what was going on and to shelter in place? patrick: when i was about to leave, the guy tol
