, general patrick hamilton on the phone.we still have him? good. i wanted to talk to you about the stelar job that you've already pointed out that the first responders are doing, what sort of precautions do you take to deal with the very issues that dr. sapphire pointed out, the contaminated water, trying not to transfer illnesses or diseases to anyone? >> well, we have personal protective equipment but it's -- you're going to get wet in the flood waters when you're walking around. so dr. sapphire's point it's hazardous, all of our soldiers and airmen, military service members have -- are current with their vaccinations, that's part of deployment red -- readiness that we have to maintain. so as they come in, they start feeling bad, we would get them in and checked out and get them treated very quickly. but it is hazardous and so that's -- that's one of the nature of the business, but we are not going to stop what we are doing, we are going to keep going in and saving those people. >> of course, you are, we really appreciate

we were speaking with patrick hamilton, the general in charge of the military response who told us the greatest area of concern right now in all of texas is beaumont, your city, where rescues are taking place. give us a status report. >> caller: well, we are operating on all fronts. we have a lot of different tactical operations going on right now. of course, life safety, number one priority. the number of water rescues have gone down a bit, but still getting calls on those. our city of over 118,000 is without running water. our public works for our city has worked 24 hours since we lost water supply trying to get a secondary option up and running. right now, we are working on getting points of distribution where we are able to get bottled water to our citizens. so, we are about to issue a release on the location of that. we had to get our assets in place before we release that information so it was a controlled environment. >> understood. bottled water coming for the residents of texas. pumps are coming from the army corps of engineers to get the water back online. are they at work ye
