we are talking about richard shelby and his democratic counterpart patrick leahy. lowey. -- as well as nita lowey. they have an enormous list ahead of them. there is a lack of bicameral, bipartisan agreement on the dozens of 2020 funding levels that need to be worked out in order to write these bills that fund the day-to-day operations of the federal government there were some huge issues looming, like funding for the wall. all of those issues are still in progress on fiscal 2020 spending bills. at the same time, we have congressional leaders continuing -- bring another resolution, whether they should keep the government open and whether these negotiations will be continuing. >> you did mention nicotine plant ton, denounce take about short-term spending bill on the week of november 18. he wrote about that in your article. how long is this continuing resolution expected to be, and are you exciting but the house and senate to pass it at the president to sign it? >> majority leader steny hoyer did outline in a letter that the house will pick up a continuing resolution
