patti ann browne live from our newsroom. >> tough story, john.ard was 29, married and diagnosed with incurable brain cancer on new year's day of this year. doctors said she had six months to live. she and her husband took a trip to the grand canyon and checked off other items on her bucket list but she began to suffer worsening seizures, severe head and neck pain and stroke-like symptoms. with the support of her family, she consult addition nitty and dying group called compassion and choices. she moved from california to oregon, which has a law allowing doctors to prescribe fatal drugs to terminally ill patients and went public with her plan to enter her life. two days ago, as planned, maynard took the drugs and died in her husband's arms. more than 750 people in oregon used the law to die built median age is 71. brittany's case got more attention because she was so young and because of her video and her advocacy for assisted suicide. the group, priests for life, issued a statement saying, "brittany's death was not a victory for political cause.
