anderson. this has helped a little bit. you have a fascinating dynamic now. hundreds of millions are about to be spent. if you look at the latest polling, in part because of paul ryan, governor romney is rock solid among conservatives and among republicans and guess what, president obama is rock solid among liberals and among democrats. the key is the very small slice in the middle that describe themselves as independent and n undecided so it's a bit of paul ryan. the ads have been mostly a wash. both sides and all the super pacs, essentially what they're doing is confusing people. >> it's interesting, though, in this battle for undecided for independents, perhaps, this poll doesn't show any fallout from the congressman akin remarks because of when this poll was taken. do you think that may have an impact, just the whole discussion about abortion, abortion rights? >> we'll see. i think the romney team is lucky they have the conventions coming up where they can turn the conversation back to where they want, which is the economy. it doesn't surprise me there is no real switch here, because we know there is a huge gap between the percentage of women intent on vot

paul ryan, the republican vice presidential nominee. speaking with me just a little while ago here at the republican national convention. andersony, very confident not only going forward with his argument, being criticized for some of statements he made last night. he's not backing away from any of that. but also confident about that upcoming debate in october against the vice president joe biden. >> he certainly energized the crowd last night, all day today, a number of fact checking organization, cnn included, have pointed out factual inconsistencies, misrepublic misrepresentations, incomplete arguments in his speech. let's talk about his speech last night and whether you think some of those same arguments are going to be repeated tonight. obviously paul ryan energized this crowd here last night. but there were a number of statement, he made which were just flatout misleading or wrong. >> he also said something that was shall we say "welcome to politics" where he criticized the president. the president did appoint a debt reduction commission. the simpson/bowles commission. the president did walk away from their findings. that
