let's go to the weather channel's paul goodloe. good evening, paul. what can you tell us? >> as gabe just talked about, it's about 20 degrees in atlanta. that's colder than it is right now in new york or boston. but look at the change. behind me here in pittsburgh, it's 2 below, 6 above in buffalo. some areas could get four plus feet of snow. arctic air pushingies ward and across the south as well. this is going to stay with us for at least until wednesday before we start seeing a warming trend thursday and friday. we have another snow and ice event as well. wind chill alerts. some wind chills 20, 30, 40, 50 below zero. that can freeze your skin in less than ten minutes. i counted up portions of at least 32 states of the lower 48 with some type of wind chill advisory right now. here's your arctic blast if you head out tomorrow. high temperatures in the teens temperature go outside now, it will be 20 degrees colder with the sun up tomorrow afternoon. as we head from tuesday into wednesday, it is still solidly cold, although a few more degrees we only start warming up. we're

the weather channel's paul goodloe has been tracking this arctic blast and joins us. i heard it was minus 36 in crane lake, minnesota. >> yeah. actually, that might be the warmest they will be for a little while before we have a slow warming trend later on this week. right now, another warm spot actually is new england. there is still plenty of cold back across western new york but look at the temperatures. 54 in boston, 48 in portland. even new york city coming in at 40. but look what's knocking on the door. teens and single digits and that is going to be also warm compared to what's coming. the front clears out, we cool down across the northeast, cold and even frigid air from the arctic coming all across the region and staying with us right on through wednesday, then slowly reverse the trend, start warming up as we head towards thursday and friday and yeah, just incredible wind chill as well with this. in fact, right now, 32 over the lower 48 states have some type of wind chill warning or advisory out there, as wind chills will be in the minus 40 to minus 50 range.
