we will see how this colors additional context around former president trump and harris in the days and weeks to come. paul: let's bring in sunil garg, from lighthouse canton. i want to talk about the market events this week. the federal reserve decision. we seem to have a split going on in terms of pricing around likely easing. 25 or 50 basis points? one gets the feeling that half of the market will be disappointed. what are your thoughts? sunil: it is interesting that over the last week the probability of a 50 basis point rate cut has risen sharply. it is now i think your late 60%. -- i think it is now nearly 60%. is a forward view enough of a reason to cut 50 basis points? i think the fed will move in smaller steps. we think 25 is more likely. and a larger cup potentially sends signals to the market in terms of what does the fed know that we don't. i suspect there is -- they are as much going to be looking at the messaging of the rate cuts -- but that is where we think the fed is likely to come in at, 25. paul: if we look ahead, we have the market pricing in 100 basis points of easing across the next th

harris. so not much of a surprise that he's getting in the paul how about this? i think this is really interesting, right? choice for president arizona, georgia, north carolina. alright, hispanic voters four years ago, joe biden won that vote 66% in the sunbelt. look at where we are now, kamala harris at just 52%. so kamala, how are struggling among hispanic voters, donald trump doing considerably better than he did four years ago. how about black voters? kamala harris, again, leading here by a significant margin, right? she's getting 83% of that vote, but that is significantly short of joe biden's 92%. so the bottom line is in the sunbelt, which is much more diverse than the northern battleground states up in the great lakes, kamala harris is struggling among voters of color, jake and harry, as you know and obviously it all comes down to the electoral college that magic number is 270 of harris is able to hold onto those blue wall states, pennsylvania, michigan, wisconsin, and trump continues to maintain his advantage in the sunbelt. what do we get? >> oh, my goo

paul, nice to have you back on the program. we had you on, what, a few weeks ago. it's now been almost three weeks after that trump harris debate. do we now have some concrete data on where both candidates stand in terms of polling? yeah, i mean, we do have a lot of polling. we're really lucky to have a lot of polling and a lot of forecasting as to what's going to happen. and there's really two tracks that we're looking at. the first is the overall popular vote nationally. and right now kamala harris seems to be leading donald trump by about three points on average nationally. the second track we're looking at is those seven battleground states. and you've talked about a couple of them, arizona and michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania, georgia, north carolina and nevada. those states are really important to putting together the electoral votes necessary to win in november. very interesting. we talk about those seven battleground states, but i keep hearing about three of those seven pennsylvania, wisconsin, michigan. why does it come down to those three, or is it really seven? well, the rust belt states, and you presume thos
