harry reid was doggone difficult. he got democrats and a socialist to agree to republican levels of spending on programs that democrats really really care about. they essentially signed onto the paul ryan levels of spending on all the things that they care about. helping children, helping women, helping the disabled, helping education. that was really really hard to do. so now now boehner has to do something hard. he has to deliver. he has to reopen the government and he has to pay our bills. and then we can go back to legislating which is the give and take you're talking about. there's lots of things you could propose to change in obama care. democrats want to have a gun safety bill. we don't have the votes for it. we didn't shut down the government over that even though
