. >> dana: let's bring in inspector paul morrow.e been to the site a couple of times in idaho. there is an issue with the car. what are you thinking this morning? >> the car is the first hard data point the police in this task force has held its cards close to the chest. for them to release that tells me they do assess it it is a lead. one of the things we talked about on the show is the rear of the house that hasn't gotten a lot of attention. there is a rise behind the house and wooded, not very large and levels off and there is a parking lot. 15 cars could fit there. the key is, you look right down from that parking lot through the trees easily into the sliding glass back doors onto the second floor where ethan and xana were asleep. if you walk that area, it is hard not to be struck when you are behind that house and look down into that house what a perfect vantage point that is for somebody looking to do something like this. >> bill: second question on this, show them 1 or 2. this is the house. the sketch you see screen right is

he don't know. >> dana: let's bring in retired inspector paul morrow.ou've walked us through what you've seen. now that we're almost three weeks after the attack, parents are very frustrated. i'm sure investigators would like to tell more if they could. how do you see it there on the ground? >> so, the atmosphere here for lack of a better term a settling in. the police department stopped giving press conferences. they aren't talking to the media. it really starts to feel now as we begin a new week, three weeks after the event, as you have said, it is down to the police department, task force behind me here in this building hunkered down going through the minutia of this case looking for the thing that will break the case open. someplace out there is the perpetrator thinking he can outlast them. >> bill: is there any talk that there could have been two killers? has that come up? >> there is talk of all sorts out here. in all honesty, i don't think that seems to be the way things are going. it doesn't seem to be the theory that you hear most often. at thi

joining me now former inspector for the nypd paul morrow you've been going through the crime scene with me and talking with sources with me. one of the things that struck me this week is the back and forth you heard the passionate interview from the family they're desperate but when you have a prosecutor that is saying one thing and the police department saying one thing. why does that happen? you're a lawyer and a cop. explain to us what that means. >> so the reason this matters is there's a couple of things first of all the optic is that the two officers are not on the same page right and so there's a public confidence issue. personally i'm more concerned with the idea that does that mean that operationally they're not latched up together. long-term investigation like this you need the prosecutor with you as a investigating officer. they're going to have to do search warrant and subpoena and legal process and cyberstuff. some of the stuff that mr. goncalves spoke about and you have to dump phone and wi-fi you have to dump the cloud you have to go for the financial investigations. all

so our favorite cross country contributor paul morrow joins me now you've been on the ground and stayeditional time there to gather some stuff. what your tame away from all of this information in prees press conferences? >> so we do have some developments since last time we spoke last time we were out there three developments since. first of thoatdz most significant i would suspect is the car. since the k bar knife suggestion, and it does go somewhat to theory that you and i have spoken about and we don't speculate but report the facts and this goes to the fact that in the rear of the house there's that parking lot and so when you see them looking for a car. we've talked about fact that it's a window right into the back of the home. and so the fact that now a car comes into play and could be a witness car and that's how the warning is -- phrased you know they say somebody was critical information. but extrapolating from that this could be they think that could break case where the car found. >> tell me about they're not really releasing any information to the public. but there was one c
