so with that, if i may request that we adjourn our meeting today in memory of paul nixon, commissioners, that concludes my report. >> thank you. public comment on the executive director's report? karin >> good afternoon, commissioners, my name is karin woods. i served with paul on the central waterfront advisory group from the beginning. even before that we worked together on getting a human powered boat launch in mission creek as part of the mission bay plan. he helped a lot getting the fir 52 boat launch built, although monique really got it done. he was instrumental in helping kayaks unlimited have headquarters at islais creek. he, as monique said, was very active in ensuring that human-powered boats could be part of the cove park experience. he's already persuaded the giants to include human-powered boating at pier 48 as part of their project. he persuaded simon snellgrove to do a boat dock at pier 1 1/2 35. so paul has had a tremendous influence on the entire waterfront and we will miss him so much and we do encourage you if you like to paddle to come to islais creek about noon on

next we have paul nixon. >> hello, i'm with sea wag and been with others for more than 10 years. my position in sea wag was basically to be the refute -- representative of human powered boating and small boating. that issue did become a big issue with bae. the idea behind this issue was that the park, the dolphin club in 1870s had established that water was there and could be used for play and work and the people that generally work at the port would also swim and both in the bay and so this went on for many many years. and it was a principal there for swimming boating clubs. comes 1999 and things begin to change and the possibility of using that traditional san francisco idea and spreading it north and south came up. and we went to christy field and south and we got to mission creek, thanks to woods and her work there. and then we continued until we reached pretty much all the way to candlestick park with the blue greenway and the initiative that went on there. then there came a problem. bae said, wait a minute, do we want recreational boating so close to the dry dock? so i want

nixon term, there is a vital majority out there. it seems to be going really fast and in ways to contradict ways that they view the country, and ways that the country should work. pauli have to say, i still think that people who are energized, to whom religious freedom is an issue, is a small minority. people do not feel afflicted in their own religious persuasion. by large, they feeling they are able to carry out religion in this country freely. they don't feel, when is up against things like wars and guns, it's more personal concern rather than a same. greta: that is interesting. given that this week rand paul will announce that he is running in 2016, amid this debate there is happening about religious freedom. i doesn't sound like you think both of you think, that this is that big of a factor for the 2016 contender. you heard his response about rand paul, who he is not worried about. paul: if you open up the file joy that is labeled "social issues," it is a huge it issue for 2016. i don't know that religious freedom occupies more than a small file in that drawer. it will be another reason for conversation as to who exactly is out of touch with the american people
