o'neill. great to have you with us again. i think paul ryan is preebl as radical as the conservatives want him to be as long as he can get away with it. what does that tell you? do you believe what paul ryan says today? or do you hold him to what he said as recently as two years ago? >> you know, honestly, ed, i think it's really hard to know where paul ryan stands given what he's been saying lately. now, we know that his history is that he opposes women's access to abortion, virtually withoutby exceptions. you played that tape of him complaining about a health exception to restrictions on abortion. what that means is that a woman with breast cancer whose birth control fails, a woman with heart disease or diabetes whose doctor said this pregnancy is making you really sick and you need to terminate the pregnancy, paul ryan wants to force that woman to continue that pregnancy. that's way out of step with the vast majority of voters want. in fact, 75% of voter, some recent poll that i heard about, over 75% of voters believe that women should

o'neill. terry, thank you for coming tonight. let me ask you how dangerous are paulou know, it's just remarkable. he is across the board dangerous for women. he is a upon sponsor of the fetal personhood bill. which would criminalize all abortion without any exceptions whatsoever. and criminalize many forms of birth control. but he is also the sponsor of a mandatory ultrasound bill whose purpose really is just to demean and humiliate women. it doesn't stop any woman from having an abortion, but it does make the process more humiliating for her. and then his medicare turning it into a voucher system, in the retirement years for women, their ability to get those mammograms, the cervical cancer screenings, other preventive health care and health care for issues that they have, that goes away under the romney/ryan plan. paul ryan is no matter what aspect of woman's life you look at, he seems to want to restrict her. >> and the ultrasound bill he's proposed nationally was the same bill macdonald got in trouble for in virginia, terry. >> that's right. there are a number of

sabrinarry o'neil, schafer was our guest. guest: paul ryan is seen as a true fiscal conservative.t was a nod to the conservative voters who want to see him standing up for free market policy prescriptions and when he selected paul rand, that was extremely helpful to him among his base. it was new blood for the left to say, look how bad he is, he is going to be one of those conservatives who hates women. host: terry o'neil? policiesaul ryan's could not be worse for women. i do not know how he is -- feels about women but his policies could not be more devastating. there is the budget which is the romney-ryan budget and that budget devastates woman. women cluster in a very small number of job classifications. only in 25 out of over 500 job class that -- classifications do you see women have a 50% more of the jobs. women are two-thirds of minimum- wage workers. two-thirds of the minimum wage workers are female. paul renne's policies would devastate low income workers by taking away things like food stamps and headstart and pell grants and after-school programs. these are all programs

o'neill and ronald reagan that is manageable. medicare and medicaid massive problem down the road. that's going to be what our children have to worry about. now paul'sand i want to be careful not simplifying this because i know you've got a lot of detail in your plan, but if i understand it correctly, would say, we are going to provide vouchers of some sort for current medicare recipients at the current level -- no? well, i understand, there is a grandfathering in but for future beneficiaries. i want to make sure that i'm not being unfair to your proposal, but i have read it. but the basic idea would be at some point, we hold medicare costs per recipient constant as a way of making sure that that doesn't go way out of whack. and i'm sure there are some details -- >> health inflation the point of our plan is, medicare is $38 trillion unfunded liability. it is going bankrupt and the premise is look, give the people the same kind of health care plan we have in progress. that's what we propose for medicare.
