[applause] >> good evening, my name is paul roits. i'm a parent of a second greater at marshall elementary. thanks for hearing us tonight. just to reiterate what they said, you know, the fact that occupy didn't take the city's offer really doesn't make what we're saying here tonight a moot point. our point is that we were not involved at all in this process or the decision. we did some research on the crime. we compared the crime rates just 500 feet from the school and a half a mile from the school, from marshall elementary to the closest public school at fairmont. it was between five and 14 times. we are challenged there already. again, it was whether or not you believe in occupy, any of that, it's the fact that our principal was surprised by this and out of all of the properties that the city can choose from, you know, to put it in the, first of all, the mission district, and second of all, just a block away from a public school, out of all of the properties, that's what really has got us concerned with the decision process, the dec
