[ applause ] paul was one of the jewish pows saved by roddy edmunds. he recalled, although 71 years have passed, i can still hear the words he said to the german camp commander. according to his diary, these events took place on january 27, 1945. 71 years ago today. and tonight, my comrade paul stern is celebrating his 92nd birthday. [ applause ] i would also like you to meet one of my other comrades. he is actually the kid among us. he celebrated his 90th birthday last august at s-- sergeant irwn fox, would you stand up? [ applause ] sonny is actually a tv star. he was president of the national academy of television arts and sciences. and at 90, he is still a consultant. thanks to roddy for saving us. and thank you. god bless america.
