with me now is cbsn security analyst paul viollis. the time was very specifically chosen, the location as well. >> no question about that, anthony. i think forensically, when we take a look at this and we look at what the agencies are going to do right now and who is going to be responsible for what, one part of that investigation is going to go back forensically to look at the cameras, and we than we've done an exceptional job since 9/11, and incorporate the artificial intelligence in that to see when this guy came. was he at that scene before today? and i think you're going to find out that he was. he picked it carefully because it's 3:00 in the afternoon. it's halloween. there's a lot of kids, and he intentionally targets that school bus. he didn't-- that wasn't by happenstance. he clearly sat and scouted that area, and made sure that it was at this particular time. >> mason: this event occurred at 3:05 in the afternoon, but this. >> right, right. >> mason: in a way, this probably was the most prepared police department in the coun

let's bring back fran downsnd and paul viollis. situation. the facts are always changing.media did not help, they caused panic by putting out false reports. what do we know and what does that say to you atz a law enforcement view? >> what people need to understand, it's a very fluid situation but this individual, f 4-year-old, no criminal history, but yet calculated enough to select the type of weapons that would be able to shoot at 400 yards at 32 floors up giving the wind shear, that's a planner, somebody familiar with firearms. the other part is thank god las vegas p.d. did an excellent job. as fran mentioned earlier and there's no question about it, had that not happened, there would be a lot more part-time. >> we heard he had some minor rupp-in with officials. i like what you said earlier. just because he doesn't have a criminal record double mean he didn't have a criminal past. >> right. what we'll find as the day progresses and tomorrow is what the police actually communicated with him when they rye spomded to his home and how many times. again, just because there's
