fox 5's paul wagner has the story. reporter: mike mcqueary has been on administrative leave since mid-november when his grand jury testimony was finally made public, testimony that angered some people so much they leveled death threats against him. mcqueary has said very little publicly since and tomorrow inside this courthouse he's expected to tell his version of events under oath in front of a judge. e. on march 1, 2002, mike mcqueary, penn state graduate assistant said he entered the locker room of the football building on the university campus and was surprised to see lights on. mcqueary told the grand jury he saw a young boy he believedded to be about 10 being sex -- believed to be about 10 being sexually assaulted by jerry sandusky. mcqueary left and told his father what he saw. the two decided mcqueary would tell head football coach joe paterno. in the grand jury report there is no mention of a second person at the meeting between mcqueary and his father but according to a report in the harrisburg patriot news a

fox 5s paul wagner is live in the newsroom with the latest. paul? >> reporter: detectives knew the cases were linked by dna and knew the same man was carrying out the attacks but had no idea who he was. they linked a number of cases on this website behind me, potomacriverrapist.com. there is a map showing all of the cases and where they took place. again, beginning in 1991, and ending with the murder of christine merzion in 1988. the officials are hoping the same tools that caught the east coast rapist will help them catch the potomac river rapist as well investigators have known since 2004 the murder was linked with a series of chilling rapes in rockdale, north foak and silver spring -- north potomac and silver spring. detectives have this dna and years of sketching but years of searching left them with an infinished puzzle. who is this man and why did the attacks stop in 1998? >> could be that our offender went overseas and is in a foreign country committing several acts. could be our offender is dead and how far, we want that tip or clue that wil

our paul wagner is there. we'll talk with paul next hour about the case. >>> a suspect shot by d.c. police has died. >> the map was believed to have been randomly shooting at the homes an may have been high on pcp. stacy cohan has the latest. >> reporter: the good news here is it doesn't appear that any innocent people just in their homes were injured in the shooting last night when this man started to walk around this complex randomly firing a gun. we are in the 5300 block of clay terrace northeast washington. that is where this all happened. it was around 7:00 last night when d.c. police got a call. this man was apparently wandering around pulling out a weapon, firing in the air, firing at homes and nowhere in particular. there were thoughts that he may have been using pcp. nobody knew for sure. the resident were frightened. dietz police arrived on the scene. we're told there were about 30 gunshots in all but we do not have a motive for the shooting. >> we have four officers that are involved, multiple witnesses here from the calls that came in of what went on. still a lot of work
