stephanie: as we mentioned, paula tracy was on board one of the trams and joins us live on the phone. how are you? paula: thank you. i am safe on the ground. everyone is down on the ground. there were no injuries. we had 41 in the car i got on, which left the docking station at about 2:00. it got out about 100 feet before there was a very abrupt jolt. everybody was shaken around. there was a woman with an eight-month-old baby and her husband from connecticut among the first to be evacuated. we had to go through the bottom of the tram that had a cable. they would alternate between using a bag and harness. i chose the harness and did not look down because it was pretty far. there was no panic. there was a pretty good report it was -4 when we stopped. no one was injured and everybody got down safe. stephanie: thank you for that report. adam: we are glad you made it out safely and everyone else did too. certainly scary moments. pollack: we have information on escapeoutside.com. the skis are being pulled down. everybody will be able to get home without injury. but it was pretty traumatic.

mike: wmur' s paula tracy was on the tram. she said a family was on board with their eight-year-old baby -- eight-month-old baby. a mountain employee took off their court to warm the baby. >> they sat there like everybody else. mike: while they waited, passengers made light of the situation. >> everyone was laughing and having fun. mike: all 48 people were brought inside and given blankets, hot food, and drinks. no one was injured. >> this is my ninth winter, the first evac we' ve done live. mike: cannon mountain said the temperatures did not affect the tramway. >> we actually run an inspection moving parts, every single morning, regardless of whether the tram is going to operate or not. mike: cannon notified the state as it continues to try to repair the tramway. >> i had a pretty comforting feeling. >> rescuers did a good job. >> they definitely did. mike: the mountain says it will continue to work with the state to ensure this never happens again, as well as make sure the tram is safe to open as soon as possible. mike croni

this is exclusive video of the rescues from inside the tram where our own paula tracy was among the passengers stuck and rescued. officials say the system will stay shut down until repairs are done. suzanne roantree is live in franconia with the latest. reporter: yes, tonight the motor for the cannon mountain tram is the tram closed to the summit for the time being. >> the tram car and the whole system itself is inspected every day. we have a rigorous maintenance program that we follow. reporter: about 1:50 sunday afternoon, cannon ski patrol were alerted that the two cars stopped. the bottom car with 41 people was 40 feet off the ground, while the other car with only seven on bore was roughly 75 feet away from the summit with little protection. >> it's likely that the car at the top was colder than the car at the bottom, seven people in one carver sues 41 bodies. mostly dressed for skiing in the bottom car, which was largely protected by trees. reporter: blankets were sent up to the people in the upper car to keep them warm. but mechanics say they don't believe the bitter cold temperatures we
