unearthed the still unidentified victim at peacock's home in the 3900 block of calhoun street. that's just outside the gary city limits. it is not known how long the body was buried at peacock's home but police do not think that the burial happened recently. state police executed a search warrant at the home yesterday after receiving information earlier in the week that human remains might be located there. >> on the south side three people were hospitalized after a shooting outside a lounge in the park manor neighborhood. it happened at about 3:30 this morning in the 500 block of east 75th street. one victim was shot in the abdomen and taken to the hospital. another victim was shot in the hand and taken to jackson park hospital. no details have been released on the third victim.

arsenic turns this gorgeous peacock and green. you can see how much i like this stuff. and carbon monoxide is like siren red in a test tube, and it'll stay that way for months. i mean, it's t most stubborn, determined, fascinating poison. so within -- [laughter] i sound awful. within the background i've got these two scientists, and they're surrounded by death and murder, and they're trying to figure it out, how to do this. so when i was doing the narrative structure of my story, it was complicated because i wanted to do two things. i wanted to move you through this, what is a quest? as holly says, a quest to change the world innocence. but i wanted to move you through the 1920s, and i want to move you through poisons. so in 1918 it's the wood alcohol chapter, and 1922 is an arsenic chapter, and it starts with a mysterious killing at a restaurant. and i keep -- and so i'm running these two narratives, the narrative arc of these two scientists trying to build something and the narrative arc of poisons as we try to understand them. and as a writer you're doing this compli

peacock knows that this probably violates federal law. the only action that i can see taken here is that two letters have been written and cook county has been encouraged to change its policy and has been advised that if it continues this policy, it may result in denial of reimbursement to the state under the program. the federal government has been very aggressive in filing lawsuits against states who are trying to actually do something about illegal immigration but it doesn't look to me like the government is doing that much to enforce the law that currently exist with respect to detainer's. what more do you plan to do with entities like cook county who are obviously jeopardizing american security in the process? >> i agree. i think cook county's ordinance is terribly misguided. it is a public safety issue. we are evaluating a lot of options right now. you know we always start off trying to work with the local authorities and work things out. we to date have no success with this so we are evaluating all options. >> i hope more than eval
