the cuts will mean trains only run once every eight minutes at peak hours. right now they run every six minutes. metro's new budget is expected to take effect in july. fare hikes arent the only thing on the agenda today. the board is also expected to discuss expanding metro's university pass. it's an unlimited ride pass that's already used for students at american university. metro has offered it to all of the colleges and universities in the region. also on tap today - plans for change that includes adding bus bays and eliminating parking. d.c. officials are trying to reassure residents whose loved ones have gone missing. last night, some residents attended a town hall meeting with mayor muriel bowser and acting police chief peter newsham. residents expressed concerns about the number of young people listed on the police department's list of missing persons. newsham says there isn't a rise in missing person cases, but an improvement in the way the cases are reported. he says his department works continuously to solve those cases. coming up in our six o'cloc
