of the things i want to point out one year to date we're hoping to see a continued decrease in pedestrian injuries. unfortunately, we are at 8 pedestrian facility year to date. we're going to increase our efforts to make sure we don't surpass last year. i mentioned the crossroads and how the department is issuing citations to handheld devises. we are having the devises programmed so there is a pedestrian a bike motorist box when you printout the citation so it shows exactly what is it and the court are excited because the prints are bigger. and they're more excited as we move towards the electronic printing of data we're excited inform not to read the scribbling of citations. i think it's important to thank the commission and the board of supervisors for coming up with the 6 year hiring plan. as you know we're hitting an all-time low of 16 hundred and 44 officers in the department. that translates to reductions across the board. the hope is with increase in department-wide staffing we'll see increases in enforcement as well. that staffing shortfall has impacted traffic companies and as you can see from the next slide for example, june 2012 we h
