meteorologist pedram javaheri has the latest forecast. pedram. >> good morning, rosemary. active weather continues across southern u.s. and we're talking about upwards of 200 severe weather reports in the past four hours. that number is coming in in the form of active tornadoes. you'll notice flooding becomes a major concern moving forward. flood watches widespread across the region and certainly the amount of rainfall justified 2 to 4 inches has come down in a very short time period. keep in mind, 100% of the state of louisiana underneath some sort of a drought. a lot of this rainfall is beneficial. any time you get too much in a short period, significant flooding becomes an issue. it's pushing around the florida panhandle. southern and central alabama. a system as it migrates a little farther towards the east, expect energy in a more populus region. the concern as far as severe weather threats diminishes quite a bit. on the scale of 1 to 5, it drops down now to a 2. it was a 4. places like tallahassee, charleston, raleigh, even into portions of the ohio valley severe wea

good morning, pedram. >> good morning, isa.tions of the mississippi valley, tennessee valley, ohio valley where the severe threat extends for quite a bit of activity in the afternoon. even in the early morning hours, tornado watches in effect until 7 a.m. in tulsa, arkansas, south into dallas. severe weather could spawn a few tornadoes. as the energy shifts east we expect the severe threat to go east. it's a multi-day setup. the threat level, that's a level 4 and the largest concern is straight line winds maybe 70, 75 miles per hour into the afternoon. ef-2 or 3. this is in line with the same exact spot that we saw severe weather and deadly tornadoes. it's a 50% chance across the landscape. timing on this, between late morning and early afternoon hours. nashville, jackson, new orleans. 40, close to 50-mile-per-hour wind gusts. the energy shifts off of alabama, georgia. just a little bit. excessive rainfall includes the city of memphis. still plenty of potential this afternoon. notice by thursday afternoon the threat level dimin

meteorologist pedram javaheri has a look at your forecast. pedram? >> good morning, rosemary.e storms have been the case around texas. they've pushed up around 50, even 60 miles an hour. over 39 miles an hour considered tropical storm force. not just damaging winds. large hail has been reported since 17 reports of tornadoes across the lone star state. 60,000 customers without power across the landscape as well. the system responsible, it is shifting off towards the east. portions of louisiana, mississippi, onto the state of alabama. highest severe weather threat on a scale of 1 to 5 as they go across jackson, hattiesburg and chance for large hail, damaging winds and even significant tornadoes possible. the areas in red ef-2, 15% chance within 25 miles of the point. that's a significant threat for large tornadoes in that landscape. rainfall, that's going to be plentiful. 2 to 4 inches. damaging winds. 50% chance in this area where you could see the wind gusts push up to 50, maybe 60 miles an hour as a system moves across mississippi, alabama. as we get into wednesday and thursd

meteorologist pedram javaheri is tracking the system. >> it's a similar setup to what we saw last week at this time. the area of potential impacts and of course the level of concern when it comes to these tornadoes and the strength potentially when they do develop. you'll notice a pretty active line of storms across the dallas metroplex working northward towards tulsa towards areas of portsmouth, arkansas. that's where the national weather service has prompted a tornado watch for 7 a.m. where some rotations could be possible. that is a level 4 on a scale of 1 to 5 as indicated in red. includes memphis, jackson, alexandria. approaching areas across new orleans where this level 4 is in place. the biggest concern for the storms are going to be stream lined winds for times 70 plus miles an hour. timing this out for you, you notice the linear action. the storms, winds are going to be a primary concern. early afternoon, 1, 2 p.m. you see this push across portions of louisiana. 4, 5 p.m. and into mississippi and alabama. through georgia and sev
