peggy, what happened? reporter: first police are still here, still guarding this home because it is still a crime scene and evidence may still be collected. police say this was not a random crime. they say that the woman they've arrested is the wife of the boy's father. 47-year-old natalia wilson, a russian citizen, is charged with stabbing to death the ex- wife and child of her own spouse. police say the victim's current husband found the bodies of 41- year-old slavka naydenova and her 8-year-old son paul wilson in their home monday night. >> i just think it's horrible. it's really scary to think that that could happen. >> reporter: this man, a bulgarian friend of the victim who drove her husband to his home monday night, said he was worried because his wife had let someone in the house. >> she opened the door. >> reporter: police believe that someone was natalia wilson. >> late last night the detectives arrested natalia wilson charging her with two counts of murder and the murder of the child. >> reporte

peggy fox live in tysons corner. >> alex trevino is looking at the roads in northwest washington. we saw plows coming through in virginia but what about our area, where you are right now? >> in the last hour or two it is amazing how much snowfall we are seeing. it is a significant change. this is just amazing. people are still out and about walking, but, you don't see this snowfall in south texas. not this. maybe one in every 100 years, but the snowflakes are becoming bigger. of course we are standing underneath this tree, and don't want one of these branches to fall on my head like the meteorite that fell a couple of weeks ago. there are still cars, people are driving on the roadways here. good thing is the main roadways are treated. so the side roadways that you have to be careful with. and the intake sidewalks are a little bit wet and dangerous. slippery. so that's something you will have to take extra precaution as we are going in to the darkness here in an hour or so. so, take extreme caution. and watch where you are going if you are out and about. >> all right. great advice.

there's a similar story of a woman named peggy. mexico, and broke up with her boyfriend, named patrick kennedy, after dating him for three years. he couldn't handle not being with peggy and stalked her outside of her work. he waited for her outside of her gym, he followed her everywhere she went and she could always find his truck wherever she showed up. she filed stalking charges against him and had a protective order put out against him. eventually peggy started dating someone else and tried to move on with her life. patrick set her boyfriend's house on fire, flew to peggy's mother's house in ohio and spray painted her house with profanity. the police then thought they had enough evidence to take him to court. six months before the trial began, peggy moved to california to hide from patrick and he hired a private investigator to find her. and he did so in california. and two weeks before the trial, he located her and then killed her and then killed himself. the most effective way of preventing talking -- stalking is making people

peggy hamburgerñr and secretary sebelius came out to nih.a leadership council to focus on ways to streamline the process of evaluating new possible therapeutics and agreed to support a new set of scientific projects for regulatory size to get a handle on exactly how we should be reviewing protocols for rare diseases or unusual applications. that is a very exciting opportunity. i should draw to a close and let you ask questions. let me point out one more theme of my five things. it is really to empower and invigorate the research community. that is their most important resource. you may have great ideas and great size projects, but if nobody does it them, they just sit there. we have to come up with better ways for innovation and there are a lot of ideas -- we have to come up with new and better ways for innovation and there are a lot of ideas out there. we need to be sure that we are supporting early stage investigators because there has been a graying of our research çóñrcommunity and we need to bee that individuals who are just joining us

peggy, could you talk more about your responsibilities with regard to tobacco and how it compares withyour authorities with regard to food and drug, and sort of what you're doing to carry it out? >> okay. this is obviously a very important new mission for fda, and it is a historic advance. i believe it will make a huge difference and the ability to reduce smoking in this country and help prevent the onset of new smoking. it anyway straws on an existing strategies for regulation, but in many ways it's also quite different and we're developing a whole new approach. the legislation was signed into law in the summer, the last summer, by the president. and it laid out a number of very explicit requirements for us in terms of actions we must take. and we have been moving forward rapidly, setting up a new center, recruiting a terrific center director, doctor lawrence deaton, and hiring up at the same time we are starting to implement important programs. the law focuses on several key areas. one is really deepening our understanding of the science of tobacco and tobacco products, understanding
