peggy fox joins us with some new details about what she's learned. let's have at it. >> reporter: natasha mcken in died of a -- mckenna died of a heart attack after being tased not once but four times in the fairfax county jail. she only weighed about 120 pounds and they can't understand why five deputy reacted to her resistance with such force. >> why? why did you tase her so many times? why? >> reporter: lisa who did not want her face on camera is a cousin of natasha mckenna, the 37-year-old woman who died after being tasered at the jail. lisa said natasha had a history of mental illness but did not deserve to be tased. >> that should be part of training. if you can't do a job with your hands and you have to use instruments that could cause bodily harm or even death like in this situation, shouldn't be done. >> i talked to people who saw what happened. >> reporter: pete early has written books about treatment for mental illness. >> she needed help, not punishment and ended up dead. >> reporter: she was put in isolation a week before the day they tr

peggy fox now joins us live from alexandria in fairfax county with the latest on the fate of natosha mckenna. >> reporter: the more we learn about her, the sadder it is. she wound up here in the hospital after struggling and fighting with police and then spent 11 days in the hospital. when she was released from inova mount vernon hospital, she apparently still had her hospital clothes on. the patient clothing and then soon she was headed right back to the fairfax county jail. two weeks after 37-year-old natosha mckenna smiled before booked into the fairfax county jail she was dead. she died after being tased by sheriff's deputies who were trying to transport her to alexandria's jail. >> it definitely is bothersome, unfortunate that people that are claiming to get information from sources that were there are providing information that there may be half truths, no truths, partial truths. >> reporter: fairfax county sheriff stacy kincaid can't answer questions because the incident is under investigation but disputes reports police detectives were kept out of the jail. >> when the incide

. >> peggy fox joins us live from fairfax county courthouse where a judge just ruled in the family's favor again. >> reporter: that's right. the judge ordered fairfax county to turn over two internal affairs reports. one of the fatal shooting of john geer and the other about a courthouse meltdown that officer adam torres had before he fatally shot john geer. now already in that released police report about the shooting it found geer to be standing in the doorway of his own home with his hands up. several officers were angry about the shooting and felt it was not justified. the soon to be released reports may shed light on whether officer adam torres is prone to anger and whether he was disciplined for cursing out a commonwealth attorney in the courthouse. the geer family wants to know what police supervisors knew about torres and why they allowed him to be there that day with his gun drawn and pointed. >> there's an officer who admittedly had some anger issues within five months of the shooting in this case. at least it raises a reasonable suspicion that perhaps these issues carried

peggy fox was at both scenes and has more from where this began in the eastern market plaza in chantilly. >> reporter: the suspects who tried to rob an armored vehicle in front of this capital one building probably didn't count on the guard inside the armored vehicle firing back. they also probably didn't count on a witness following them. shell casings tell the story of a brazen shootout in front of a capital one bank in chantilly. >> it's crazy. you get nervous and you don't know what's going on and chantilly, you never hear of stuff like this. >> reporter: two suspects tried to rob this dunbar armed car as it was making a money delivery. >> apparently one of the two individuals fired a shot as far as we can tell so far at the security individuals from dunbar. they returned fire and one of the individuals was hit. >> reporter: the armed car drove away and parked in front of the harris-teeter. the suspects fled through a field to their vehicle. a witness who saw the shooting followed the suspects contacting police with a vehicle description, a red ford taurus. across the county line int

peggy fox tells us what led to that outburst. >> reporter: jeff stewart showed up at his friend john geer's house in springfield not long after police arrived for a domestic dispute. officer adam torres fire a single shot surprising everybody there. torres told investigators he saw geer reach for his waist, something no other officer there saw. >> john was shot unjustly. he had his hands above his head. >> reporter: five months before he shot john geer officer torres blew up in court at commonwealth attorney charles peters using the f word numerous times and storming out. peters said he was somewhat stunned by the meltdown when he spoke to detectives investigating the geer shooting. we now know what caused torres to lose control. he had arrested someone on dui after pulling them over for changing lanes without using a turn signal. the commonwealth attorney explained to him that it's not illegal to not use a turn signal and the case would have to be dismissed because torres did not have a reason to pull the person over. >> if he is that much of a hot head, he shouldn't have a weapon i
