i'm peggy bunker. >> i'm jessica aguirre. thanks for joining us. another difficult day in oakland as the death toll rises dramatically from the ware house fire. >> raj mathai has been anchoring the coverage. joining us now. what's the latest, raj? >> reporter: there is a lot happening at this hour. the recovery continues. those bodies, perhaps more bodies to be discovered but we noticed in the last 24 hours, the mood shifted dramatically from this neighborhood, the people. yesterday it was all about the sadness and shock. tonight, there is still sadness and shock but a lot of anger. people starting to question why this warehouse had these people, why there was party here and why are these artist allowed to live here after all the complaints in this warehouse but ultimately, aside from the politics and aside from the investigation, so many lives have been lost. let's give you some of the latest numbers now we're working with at this hour, a little after 9:00 on sunday night and here is where it is. the latest death toll has risen to 33 victims. eigh

at sfo, peggy bunker. >> thank you, peggy. the good news is this is almost over and we get a lot of sunshine after this, right? >> yeah, couple more hours in the clear and clear skies for the deal lalays? >> exactly right. temperatures will start to plummet as we head throughout the next three days. hold on. wild ride on the boards for us. as we get a look now at the doppler radar that stands around. you'll be able to see the consistent rainfall near the coastline right now. for the east bay, that's also we're finding some areas of rainfall moderate from concord to danville and dublin and hayward. it's going to continue like this off and on probably for the next two to three hours or so. i want to take you to the north bay with a tremendous amount of rain in just about a ten hoff ho -- ten-hour period. we're starting to see things dry out. i want to focus on the water fast rushing into tomorrow morning. that's the napa river. it got very close to flood stage around 5:00 this afternoon. down through st. helina, stay away from t

. >> i'm peggy bunker. >>> a wet weekend is leading to a host of problems starting with a massive power outage. rob is tracking the conditions out there. >> yes, very impressive 24 hour rain fall totals. in the mill valley about 2.5 inches of rain. san jose, we saw just over a third of an inch. san francisco is catching a slight break after more than an inch came down around downtown san francisco. you see the total there. around the peninsula, toe above one to two inches of rain. the top mountains in the clearing line now. the heavier showers have moved off to the east. so the trend for the next hour or two, santa cruz mountains, that is where the locally heavy rain will be for the rest of the evening. rain on the decrease the rest of the evening. the sunday forecast is coming up in just a few minutes. >> thank you very much. a scary scene in the east bay. a large tree on highway 13 coming down on a car. causing a massive back up. j jody hernandez is the first reporter on the scene. >> i'm standing on the northbound lanes of highway 13 where you see this big tree at about 2:30 this aft

. >> i'm peggy bunker. as the sun drops, so are the temperatures. >> let's get right to rob mi mayeda. >>> for san francisco, the coast and inner bay have a frost advisory in effect. san jose dropping in many places with a freeze warning in effect until 9:00 a.m. dublin by 3:00 a.m. could be approaching the upper 20s, freezing temperatures and in a few exceptions, a hard freeze warning in effect where you could see two to four hours below 28 degrees. dangerously cold temperatures, freezy cold in the north bay and out in solano county. bundle up for your evening plans. we'll let you know how long patchy ice will be in the forecast. that is coming up in about ten minutes. >> something to be on the lookout for. when you cam pair california to other parts of the country, we cannot complain about the cold. a winter storm hammering a lot of the country. on the east coast, this happening here. a fuel sanker crashing into the guard rail. this involved about 55 vehicles and when it was over with it killed three peop

. >> good evening to you, thank you for joining us, i'm peggy bunker. >>> and i'm terry mcsweeney. today, it's been a very dangerous day on the roads. let's start with meteorologist rob mayeda. >> and from san francisco, seeing clear skies, actually the fog over san francisco with the lights over the crane are seeing the clouds from north bay and belvedere. you can see rain totals around the north bay, two and a half inches of rain around mill valley, more than an inch in san francisco, tri-valley, more than an inch and a half. over the past 24 hours, an inch in many spots in san jose. this is where the last of the weather spots are bringing us rain right now in downtown san jose. doppler radar fired up here from san bernardino mountain, showing you the rain. off to the south of san jose, we saw downpours moving through the bay area. in the next

. >> and i'm peggy bunker. it's the end to a very wet weekend for much of the bay area as there was pounding rain. >> taking a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza, moving smoothly. and boy is it. the rain is not going to last long. let's go live to rob mayeda. >> there's a live look outside and not much fog. pretty picture there looking live outside. let's show you what the radar is finding right now around the bay area. you can see a few areas of prec precipitation aloft. a few sprinkles here. the main event getting its act together off to the west and does have the tropical moisture which aims it towards the bay area and bringing us at least three days of a rain as we head into the week. the timeline has a potential of heavy rain at times and thankfully around the north bay which could lead to localized flooding like saturday. more wind and gusty conditions could lead to downed trees and power impacts around the bay area. we'll give you an hour by hour outlook when to expect the heaviest rain coming up in

. >> and i'm peggy bunker.ake a look at what is expected to be several days of wet weather. >> our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri is tracking the timeline of all of this and really the impact. what are the details? >> the way we see it, there are going to be periods of wet weather moving in. the doppler is starting to pick up anywhere from light to moderate rainfall from the north bay down to the south bay. most widespread coverage here in marin, napa, sonoma counties from santa rosa down towards novato. in san francisco, a pocket of heavier rainfall now approaching the embarcadero that moves over towards oakland. not much in the south bay yet. just a few areas of spotty showers by 11:30, we expect the rain into san jose and for tomorrow morning, areas of scattered rain that continues. things that i'm keying in on with the wet weather lasting until friday morning is pockets of heavy rain, winds up to 30 miles per hour and anybody heading to lake tahoe not only dealing with snow but a potential of freezing rai
