jon: pella christian's offense has taken flight this season. they've thrown for over two thousand yards and almost all of it has been from the arm of david kacmarynski. but success on the gridiron is kind of expected when you carry that last name. firefighters battled a blaze that severely damaged a pella restaurant late last night. good afternoon. it all happened just after 10:00 p.m. last night at the coffee cup cafe. pella fire investigators say the they say most of the roof collapsed into the dining room. the pella fire chief says the kitchen area appears to be intact, indicating that the blaze may not have started there. under investigation. no injuries were reported new at noon, a lee county prosecutor has decided not to file charges over allegations that a land agent offered to hire a prostitute for a landowner if he would allow an oil pipeline company access to his land. lee county attorney mike short told the des moines register on monday there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute. he also said that it is likely the landowner, hughie tweedy of montrose, set up a meeting with the agent in order to embarrass the pipeline company. the proposed pipeline would carry 450,000 barrels daily from north dakota production sites to a hub in illinois. the iowa utilities board is scheduled to begin hearings on the futu

pella police arrested two men they say broke into a tire store. officer say yesterday evening they were performing surveillance on a known burglar when they witnessed two men going in and out of midtown tire authorities say they took items from inside of the building and loaded them in tothe back of a pick up truck. when police confronted the suspects they ran and hid inside of the building. eventually police were able to arrest joel followill and jason beaman. they are both charged with 3-rd degree burglary and 2-nd degree the. police in western iowa are looking for a suspect that hit an officer wita truck. council bluffs authorities arrested adam thomas yesterday on suspicion of fraud. but while they continued thr investigating thomas got out of a squad car and into his truck that was parked near by. an officer tried to stop him from diving away but was hit. the officer was taken to the hospital with injuries to his stomach. officials also shot at the truck...which was later found abandoned. investigators now say he could now be in a chevy malib

pella police say a suspected burglar picked an interesting hiding place... detectives were staking out a truck occupied by a known burglar, when they say that man and another targeted "midtown tire." police say they backed up to the businesses and started taking items. when confronted...both suspects ran back into the business to hide. officers caught jason beaman as he tried to get out of the building. they found joel followill hiding inside a stack of tires. including burglary. a special investigation audit report shows an iowa police chief used the city's fuel card to buy gas for his personal vehicle. the investigation revealed 27- hundred-dollars of misspending by the former dunkerton chief tim schultz. the purchases were reportedly made in 2013 and 2014, while schultz was off-duty. the long-time chief stepped down in august of 2014 after this issue came to light. copies of the report have been given to the black hawk county sheriff's office and the attorney general's office. a portion of southeast 34th street permanently closed today, because of an agre
