i m leader pelosi's district rector in san francisco. i've been with the for about nine years, and we are excited to put on this forum today to help people learn how they can access credit and capital for their small business. click background on some of what was accomplished in the last congress when later closing was speaker of the house. she had had 16 tax cuts signed into law to help small businesses grow and thrive. as we know, during the last 15 years, small businesses account for about 2/3 of the job growth in our country, but when the bush recession hits in 2009, 2010, small businesses were hit particularly hard. small businesses are the center of her agenda. congress under her leadership gave 27 million small businesses tax cuts. two main pieces of legislation -- the small businesses jobs act in the information you have, will create a total of 500,000 jobs and create eight tax cuts. they are all described in the packet you have. also, unleashing up to $300 billion in credit for small businesses to access. there are another eight

i agree with what nancy pelosi said. history improves itself. >> so based on history, this is about math and not ideology. the sense i get on the hill today, if you don't get the rate increase, you can forget everything else. >> we have seen in this country a decline in infrastructure in the last 30 years. that means everything from investment in community colleges, health care, highways and bridges, all of that. and we need these revenues particularly from upper income people. if the president would back down here or if we would lose this fight, it would say we're never going to increase taxes on the wealthy. >> if it's about the rates, that means john boehner's proposal is doa. >> his proposal is doa for a couple reasons. the math doesn't add up. >> he says he won't raise rates. he's getting heat on the hill today from people in his caucus about why did you put too much on the table? this tea party wing of the republican party over there in his caucus is telling him we'll give him the rates. >> it leaves us that john b

we saw speaker boehner leave and house minority leader pelosi leave. neither one is telling us what's going on. what is your gut? what do you think's going on? do we have a deal or no deal? >> my gut is feeling queazy. a lot of fiscal conservatives have been very worried about what john boehner may be giving up at the table here. i think that's why there's grassroots agitation for a fresh injection of leadership on capitol hill on the house republican side. there's always been a sense as long as these fiscal cliff negotiations have been going on an predating that to the last time the debt ceilings negotiations or give away that we're giving up way too much. and the sense is that it's all a could -- kabuki theater. >> president obama caught the hawaii vacation short for what reason? >> that's act one or two of the kabuki. to make it seem as though even though he flew off for vacation, he cares about what is happening. that's why so many americans and fox viewers obviously in particular are fed up with what's going on in d.c. because it seems there's alw
