nbc 10's monique braxton is live in pemberton township. and monique, what's happening next this week with the investigation? >> reporter: rosemary this is the dark road where the 22-year-old mother brought her little baby girl. you can see, there is a growing memorial here a candle is lit, stuffed teddy bears, a stuffed fish. also, some flowers being placed here at the roadside. someone also has taped ribbons, pink blue white, next to the post where police had marked their crime scene on friday night. authorities say hyphernkemberly dorvilier of pemberton township recently gave birth. nbc 10 reached out to the mother's family, but as you can see, no one answered our knock at the door. dorvilier is accused of dousing the baby girl with an accelerant before setting her on fire on the road friday night. the child died at st. christopher's hospital a few hours later after being airlifted there. authorities said dorvilier could have dropped the baby off at a police station or a hospital anonymously. it's all part of new jersey's safe haven law.

the baby was found right in the middle of a people -- pemberton township street. matt delucia is live there this morning. matt are there any witnesses to this crime. >> reporter: police tell us that neighbors called 911 just before 11:00 last night. they said there was a commotion in the middle of the street. but by the time the officers got there, this baby was already badly burned. take a look at the scene. we were there a few hours ago, this is simenton road near stockton's bridge road in pemberton township burlington county. that baby were we're told was set on fire and was very young, possibly a newborn. a helicopter was brought in the baby flown to st. christopher's. a woman 22 years of age was at the scene, taken to a nearby hospital as well. we're working to find out her relationship to the victim and whether police believe she was the one who lit the fire. those two, police tell us were the only ones in the street. at this point it is unclear if this baby will survive. again, we're told these burns are very severe. we do have calls into the burlington cou

it is here where the family and pemberton township community will gather wednesday night to pray for child who never had chance. >> there's a lot of anger being expressed. there's a lot of feelings that are very close to the surface but there's also a rallying of people who had a sense that this is a family in great need. >> reporter: dressed in orange jumpsuit doorville her appeared by video in a burlington county courthouse to face murder charges. police say an eyewitness saw doorville lower standing near the fire holding a can of wd40 and when she poured water on the fire a baby began crying from under the towels and papers which were on fire. baby angelica died less than two hours later with burns over 60% of her body. her umbilical cord still attached. doorville her's bail was kept at $500,000 if she does post bail, a judge ordered her to undergo a full psychological val weighing. >> the allegations of this particular offense is very serious high range of seriousness. >> reporter: police say this case is a good reminder to all young mothers of new jersey save haven law. infants

pemberton police say shortly after her baby was born she wrapped it inside a blanket doused it with flammable liquid and set the baby on fire. it happened along the shoulder of simon town road. >> today she made her first appearance in burlington county court wearing an orange jumpsuit telling the judge she understood the charges. according to an arrest affidavit, an eyewitness a neighbor dave joseph saw the young mother standing near the fire holding a can of wd40. she toll the man she was burning a pile of dog feces. but when she poured water on the fire a baby began crying from under the towels and papers which were on fire. the witness tackled doorville lower follow police got there. >> the baby was charred. it was on fire. it was on fire for at least a little -- you know, for while. >> reporter: the unnamed baby girl was rushed to the hospital where she died about two hours later of smoke inhalation and burns. her umbilical cord was still attached. >> the allegation of this particular offense is very serious in a high range of seriousness. >> reporter: as family members of dorvilier rush

take a look this is what we found when we got to the scene, in pemberton township burlington county, simenton road near stockton's bridge road. police there tell us they got a call just before 11:00 last night, neighbors reported commotion out in the middle of the street. that's when officers found the baby who was lit on fire. that baby was flown to the hospital and, we're told was alive at the time. we're also told a woman about 22 years old was at the scene. she was taken to a nearby hospital as well. as of early this morning, investigators were still trying to figure out if she is the mother and if she was the one who lit the fire. but those two, police tell us were the only ones in the street at the time. of course we have been making phone calls, calling the burlington county prosecutor's office trying to get more information. but the burns to this baby we're told are very severe. live at st. christopher's this morning, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >>> a philadelphia man will spend decades behind bars for the beating death of his infant son. yesterday, samuel kracabrera was sente
