that last week we went to camp pendleton and i had met them that i had not seen in 10 years. i was a very powerful experience. we hiked up this long ridgeline into six miles there and back and we were memorialized. the 57 men killed in action in falluja and the battalion i was good and then there was also then you had taken their lives. the memorial service was not about the dead. it was about the living. there is a great story npr did yesterday, as a matter of fact which is about the platoon i was then in falluja.
