so much of the peninsula. san francisco, oakland hasn't seen much of anything yet. once you get south of san mateo, it's been a few sprinkles. most of our heavier rainfall even down into the santa clara valley, san jose southward down towards morgan hill. that's where we're seeing some heavier pockets of rain. and that's where most of it's going to stay today. definitely not a lot north of the golden gate and not even a lot on the peninsula nor oakland up to richmond, 40's to 50's for current temperatures this afternoon will land in the 50's showers will continue for the south bay sparse up north until the evening tonight. we could see some isolated brief showers for all of the bay area rain. all right. john thing that's been raining on our cemetery ridge. we've seen a lot of that rain come down. we also have a traffic hazard on the bridge right near the mid sian. so we just saw chp moments ago driving towards that. don't over the stalled vehicle, but they're trying to get that off. the ridge drive times impacted. 36 minutes traveling across towards the peninsula me

as for areas on the peninsula. once you get off the dumbarton bridge into palo alto spots like that, looking at some solid showers, same down into the south bay. that's pretty much where it's going to stay. this is a south of the golden gate bridge, kind of a vet north of there. we don't see anything until a couple of drops during our overnight hours tonight. you actually see these little pop-up showers moving in across the bay area during your overnight hours wednesday night into thursday morning. some of these could produce some localized heavy rainfall. that will last for only a few moments. and then depart by tomorrow morning. all this rainfall doesn't add up to much in santa rosa, only 100th of an inch. that's hardly a drop where san jose will get over half an inch of it. moderate over one inch of rain. so very much so further south, mostly central coast. as for next week, though, it totally different story. monday system looks super significant. this is one next week that is going to impact especially the nor

potential criminals. >> it's 905, and on the peninsula. the family of multiple young girls who were sexually abused by a teacher are speaking out this morning ahead of filing a major lawsuit. the lawsuit is against the san bruno park school district and they claim that administrators at allen elementary ignored red flags and allowed the teacher at the time jeremy yea, to sexually abuse a teen girls, including an 8 year-old he was found guilty last week. a 17 counts of felony child molestation now faces more than 400 years behind bars. according the lawsuit, the school district was alerted several times. 2 yeas, inappropriate behavior towards young girls and failed to take action. a abuse attorney and social workers going to join the families of the victims at a press conference at 11 o'clock this morning in burlingame near the hilton hotel in talk more about this lawsuit. rohnert park. police have arrested a man for shooting a gun and there's the gun at an unoccupied building. this is the area of rohnert park expressway laguna drive. and i

now this will sweep its way across the peninsula, all the way up into the east bay to. and at the same time, this exact same system will continue to bring in snow to the sierra, which will be impressive as we head into this weekend's forecast. but watch just offshore. we have unsettled weather in the forecast for us, and what i mean by that is that area of low pressure. you see it continuing to swirl its way down throughout the bay area, pushing south as we head into our thursday afternoon forecast. now, on the bright side, after that system moves to the south, we are going to clear up and dry up. but in the meantime, from now until then, we'll see on and off showers developing all throughout our communities. in total, we could see about a half an inch down into the south bay, closer to around a 10th of an inch, or at least a quarter all the way up into the north bay. so as we take a quick look at the next seven days, we do have this unsettled weather pattern in the forecast today, tomorrow lasting into our thursday forecast. the good news is we dry up as we head into t

and it wants to direct the majority of the rain on wednesday from the peninsula south. this could change because the center of the low off the coast, if it just wobbles north 50 miles, it's a much rainier day on wednesday for many more of us. but where the forecast stands for now on wednesday, we'll get some rain from the peninsula south and then that's it. weird. chance of rain in the forecast tuesday, wednesday, and thursday because there is another chance on thursday that we could see a few more showers from that one. totals never really add up a whole lot. but look at the disparities here. about half an inch for san jose. now we know why that is. that's because of the system that's coming in on wednesday and really wanting to focus that plume down there. you get .02 of an inch of rain in santa rosa. that's typically the opposite of where things go around here. and there is still a mild degree of uncertainty in this. so it's a complicated forecast, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, they have rain on them. friday, saturday don't. but as we get into next sunday and monday,

you will notice out towards morgan hill, aptos area and also on the peninsula. we are seeing a few showers around 280 los altos hills, moody road, north san antonio road in the los altos area. earlier today, there were thunderstorms in eastern santa clara county. there were strong thunderstorms this afternoon that did dump quite a bit of rain. let me show you how much rain we're talking about. morgan hill picked up 6/10 of an inch just as that cell moved over 1400 in san jose. you know, this morning, a lot of this rain was right around the south bay, parts of the east bay and the peninsula. so palo alto, fremont, five hundredths of an inch, livermore four hundredths and mountain view a little bit more than that. temperatures right now in the 40s and the 50s, as we look at a live view from our east bay hills camera. visibility is all right through tomorrow. we're going to go with spotty showers friday through the weekend, sunny and warmer weather, and next week more rain is coming our way, so it's going to be a pretty active pattern for march, but you get a break

as the developments come in from washington today on the peninsula. san mateo county's rapid response team will brief members of the immigrant community about the actions being taken to protect people from detainment and deportation. leaders say over the past few weeks, they've trained hundreds of people to use rapid response, which they say can make all the difference for ice detainees. the reality is that in practice, most people who are detained and in deportation proceedings don't have access to an attorney unless we, the people, provide that through the rapid response hotline. and so we're able as a community to provide people with a basic american right, which is representation as they're interacting with with the federal government system. tonight's forum will update people about the progress being made to inform immigrants about ice activity, while supporting immigrant families who face the threat of deportation. the immigration institute of the bay area wants to make sure you know your rights if detained or questioned by ice officers. the qr

also those 50 to about 60 here through the peninsula, san francisco, 55 in the marina and right hereor the north bay, 58 in santa rosa and 59 back towards napa. so we're on the cool side. we get that chance of showers tomorrow, but the better bet of maybe picking up some additional rain comes from this system right here. the totals look higher overall with it, but the issue about getting big rainfall with this is this area of high pressure. it's building in so quickly behind it. it's just pushing this out of the way a lot faster than we would like to see. so that will limit our overall rainfall amount as we head through wednesday's forecast. we got this area of rainfall off to the south. that's going to start to hit us here as we head through the day on wednesday, and then we hang on to some chances as we roll into thursday's forecast. so overall totals right now, wednesday, thursday, we could see a quarter to maybe a half inch peninsula, east bay and south bay. i think that fremont amount is just a little bit too high right now, but you get the general idea. south bay and the coast
