but of course penndot they have really been preparing regardless, we have a look at penndot crews in montgomery county last night loading up their trucks. it is almost january. penndot tells us they weren't a able to pretreat the roads because of the all have the rain we have had. usually they put down the brine and so forth but they have not been able to do anything like that. they say their trucks will be ready for first signs of the sleet and freezing rain which we have yet to see up here. we he did driving up the northeast extension some penndot trucks along the side of the road, on stand by but we have not seen them go into action as of yet. meantime, as we come back live the mess important thing penndot says is give themselves enough time going to work, make sure you have a survival kit as well, winter survival kit which means, of course, having food, blankets, having chargers, water and also a cell phone charger, very, very important, a blanket as well. be prepared, this isn't the worst but of course that could come at anytime now with the way this winter weather fluctuates. >

were you you mentioned penndot. penndot crews let's take you to the maintenance yard in hee lehigh valley. we were there just a short time ago. penndot up here telling us the drivers are pretty much scattered through the region. trucks busy at least handful of them at this point loading up with salt. they're not doing any pre treating of the roads at this point, because they say the rain and again that's all we're seeing right now would wash away i didn't of that pre treatment. penndot meanwhile back in the five county philadelphia region also on stand by right now with over we're told 400 plows. they are ready for wintertime as we. they have about 160,000 gallons of salt brian on stand by. there are 26 so-called winter events last year in our area. yes, what a difference it makes. most of us not yet in that wintertime mode but we did find some folks who are picking up salt and other applies up here around allentown. they do seem to be getting rea ready. >> are you ready for this kind of winter again? >> just gettin

penndot crews still here on the ram at any self. then they are also working downtown here on the vine street expressway, where westbound lanes are open. it is the eastbound side coming off of the schuylkill still blocked between the schuylkill and broad street until about 5:15, 5:30 or so. get bored of an accident out here along 422 retiring by the outlets, out here in limerick. sound like it is on the eastbound side as you're working your way from pottstown on in. but otherwise so far so good coming in from the suburbs, no problems over here up and down 295 and the turnpike, there is still the left over construction here at 295 in bellmawr. and then, later on today, westbound on the schuylkill expressway going down to one lane at 9:00 a.m. before the 476 off ramp. crews were out yesterday. coming back again today. it was a major jam all day, leaving the city, all the way out to conshy. so keep that in mind, maybe use the blue route, 476, if you are headed up toward king of prussia throughout the midday. chris, lauren, back to you.

soap, watch for penndot crew. maybe for another 15, 20 minute or so. good morning from philadelphia international airport. no problems here on i-95 getting to the airport, no problems, actually, at the airport, at least at the moment. so looks like we will have nice day to fly in or out of philly. no problems coming in from new jersey, still construction here along 295 at the freeway, until about 5:15, 5:30 or so. you know the drill. the early morning guys, airport i mentioned no problems this morning, so off to good start there. regional rail lines, kick in new schedule over the weekend, make sure to have the new timetable. the big change is with the airport line. and then big project coming our way today, on the schuylkill expressway. same deal as yesterday. they're going to be working westbound, down to one lane, right before you get to 476. so between conshy and gulph mills, that work zone, yesterday traffic backed up from center city all the way out to conshy, all during the midday. it will happen again. so you may want to use 476, the blue route,
