minor rotation as it crosses into the pennsylvania, maryland border. right now we'll continue to address flash flooding as the main concern. new severe thunderstorm warning. this is out toward cecil county, cecil county weather service has just put this out. you can see the cell for the of bel air. earlier it was a tornado warning, moving toward rising sun. as of 6:15, doppler radar indicated it was capable of producing quarter sized hail, damaging winds in excess of 60, 70 miles an hour. it's 11 miles southwest. right now -- lost that mafnlgt it's 11 miles toward the northeast. this is moving rapidly toward cecil county, northeastern harford county, get ready for the potential of this storm rolling through. tornado watch for the entire area. we'll get into the details on that and the second recount coming up in a little bit. >> just to give folks a an idea, just got reports from mta that a power outage by fallen trees has caused problems for the marc train. we saw it earlier because of that truck crash by route 152. now the marc train will be messed u

and this is receipt around the pennsylvania, maryland border. this will push everything offshore but it will come at a cost. 79 downtown. d.c. at 72. the role story is the humidity values, between 60 and 90%. that as creating a volatile atmosphere. we had powerful storms. so, nag, this current system is an expansive system. you can seat first part of the storms running from south to northeast. the second part of the storm system starting to clear out through cleveland back toward knoxsville. this will be a squall line that moves through during the course of the evening. let's go to the west. 65 in charleston. this is the disruption of hair that's creating, again, a volatile atmosphere but cooler air comes in as we head into later in the weekend. again, a huge storm system over the northern tier of the nation. that's what's responsible for all the storms. let's break down the forecast. 61 degrees eventually. we have to get through a lot of thunderstorms, very muggy and mild. tomorrow two degree guarantee. we'll keep the risk of a scattered shower

three states -- pennsylvania, maryland and virginia all experienced about a dozen tornadoes, including this one captured by a couple of storm chasers near the boston-maryland area. >> whoa! we're in a tornado! >> before you know it, they find themselves right in the middle of an ef-1 tornado. >> another power flash. this includes carroll county, maryland until 7:45, adams, pennsylvania until 7:30 and franklin county in pennsylvania until 7:30. so this is not in the immediate d.c. metro, but again we do have some viewers in these locations up toward north of us. these are generally going around for the miles per hour heading east. so i don't think the immediate d.c. metro area needs to be terribly concerned about these storms, but again some of these storms could produce some damaging wind gusts, again severe thunderstorm warnings in effect for carroll county, maryland, adams, pennsylvania and franklin, pennsylvania. let's talk about some of the video we also shot friday over pleasant hill in harford county, maryland, where the national weather service has now confirmed at least nine tornadoes touching down in maryland friday. this includes six counties across the state, three in montgomery, one in prince george's county, one in carroll county. some of them were ef-0 which were a minor tornado. we had a couple stronger ef-1 tornadoes in harford which is what you see some of the damage here in the

it extends from south-central pennsylvania into southern maryland.hat is where the heat index is likely to top 100 degrees. a cooler sea breeze and they are not in the in advisory. excessive heat warning and urban areas will be even warmer. the only storms around here are in the mountains of west virginia. it should stay mostly clear tonight. 18 degrees warmer today than yesterday. yesterday's high was only 70. we hit 88 today. the record today, 99. we will probably not hit that tomorrow, but it will certainly feel hot as a factor in the humidity. 91 in frederick. 90 in college park. this is where you get some of the natural heat relief. temperatures stay mild. 93 in chicago. even hitting 90 in green bay, wisconsin. expects temperatures to continue to decline. even into the rockies where it is 96. all that pushing is down. the combination of temperature and humidity will feel like anywhere between 100-1 05. as place to be because water temperature will only be in the 70's. a little bit on the muggees side. a thunderstorm may pop up around deer creek

harrisburg expressway as we look at drive times, 22 minutes drive from the -- drive from the maryland pennsylvania drive. you are looking at an 11 mind right and 11 minutes on the west -- minute ride and 11 minutes on west side. another traffic alert on 895. construction is beginning later tonight and expected to cause delays at the harbor tunnel for the rest of the summer. live at the tunnel with more on what's expect is abc2 ws sherrie johnson. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are live here at the fort mchenry tunnel at the toll plaza. and let me tell you something. right now all looks good. not too bad as far as traffic is concerned. but major construction begins tonight at 9:00 on interstate 895. this could mean traffic headaches during rush hour tomorrow. drivers are aurged to avoid -- are urged to avoid using the tunnel. road crews will resurface a 55- year-old bridge that will require one northbound lane to be closed for about 8 weeks and then in august one lane in each direction will close. these are repairs that could be backups in both directions and possibly into the tunnel.
