jennifer gray is live in pensacola, florida with more. what is the situation there? >> reporter: we will be looking for flooding. some areas could see six to ten inches of rain with this system. this is a sloppy one. it stretches far and wide as far as the impact and the effects of this storm with rain being the main concern. i will give you a sneak peek and you can see the seas are a little calmer than they were earlier. with the position of the storm we are on the west side so we have an offshore wind. that is pushing the water out. everyone on the east side will have an on shore wind. that is where we can see significant beach erosion as well as coastal flooding. we could see a storm surge of about two to four feet in those areas. no one will be in the water today. yesterday life guards were combing the beaches up and down. anyone in had to get out. memorial day you would expect the beaches to be jam packed by this afternoon. we are expecting them to be far less crowded for today. off and on rain will be expected all across the panhandle. as i mention anywhere fro

we showed you live pictures of panama city beach, and jennifer gray is 100 miles west in pensacola beacha. jennifer, looks better where you are, but possibly not for long. >> reporter: right. it is better where we are, but the winds have picked up significantly, and as we've been here in the last couple hours. showing you behind me. it's interestingment there's dark skies behind me. radar is the outer band of the storm. we had rain roll through earlier, and now the rain is to the west, so the dark skies behind me, that's what that is. we are actually situated on the west side of the center, so we're getting an offshore wind. it's pushing the water out, and so they took that red flag down and put a yellow one, letting people back in the water after not ledding th inletting them u days, running up and down the beaches telling them to get out. the west side of the storm is better than the east side where they are getting a lot of rain. >> and so, where is it going to head ultimately? where does it look like now? >> reporter: well, after it makes landfall, is going to continue to head north

last week there was a florida media investigation that revealed a pensacola area who pled guilty and was working as a subject matter expert. upon learning those allegations we contacted the department for additional background and we were told he was not in fact a va employee. they work for contractor. i'm glad they took this step. i think there are some questions that people are asking when it comes to subject matter expert. in the limited time that we have can we talk about third-party vendor. >> , an internist to my colleague because it comes in the benefit. >> it's called medical disability exam contract. the company is called lhi. this doctor was working for them is a contract position. in the contract we spell out in great detail the medical requirement for a doctor. first is quality physicians doing quality work for veterans. we believe that's the case and after they went back to the florida medical board they allowed her to keep her license because they saw no conflict of interest between her ability to deliver medicine. >> tui intend to use the same hiring requirements. >> t
