shimon peres highlighted the power of technology and the importance of social networking. during his interview this morning at facebook, it was broadcast on facebook live, saying he hopes that both will continue to be influential in the peace process. escorted by california highway patrol, president peres' motorcade rolled through menlo park into the facebook headquarters just before 9:00 this morning. shortly afterwards, we saw the 88-year-old online via facebook live. >> thank you very much. and shimon peres and the security left 15 minutes ago. but the first thing that the israeli president did when he got here was he took a picture with facebook leaders, used an iphone app called instagram and posted it on twitter. and that's what this is all about social media, a big topic for the 88-year-old. facebook coo interviewed him. he answered questions from users, streaming online 45 minutes. peres spent time praising silicon being a leader in innovation. he was adamant that women in the middle east need to have better educational opportunities and praised younger generations for fighting against tyranny in syria. he condemned the iranian government as most dangerous in the world. >> the only country in the world that goes for the destruction of another country, of israel, denies the holocaust. who are they? who made them a superior group of holy people? there's nothing holy about them. and they want to have nuclear weapon. so the combination of viciousness and nuclear weapons are a real catastrophic major. >> reporter: there was
