get protective masks to latino farmworkers repairing the fields for planting in half moon bay and pescaderoas amber lee reports, the help they are getting is also homegrown. >> reporter: at this farm in half moon bay, workers are preparing the soil for crops such as brussels sprouts, artichokes, and peas. outreach worker, a latino focused nonprofit, is handing out free homemade facemasks made of cloth to farmworkers. some described him as a forgotten essential worker. >> reporter: they are the ones who put food on the tables. so we have to do, you know, like grocery stores, you know, like doctors and nurses, we need farmworkers. >> reporter: there trying to buy facemasks for the workers but it will take weeks for a shipment. these reusable masks will offer some protection, 165-year-old farmworkers spoke to us in spanish, through a translator. >> it is a great things we can protect ourselves. >> reporter: there also be distributed to housecleaners in the grocery store workers, and their families. >> it means a lot because during this time, like, we all need to be safe. >> reporter: professor
